I decided to try some alternative litters because I was having two problems, 1) my cat seemed to be tracking a lot of litter around my small apartment, and 2) I noticed that she likes to pee in the corner of the box, and when the clumps touch the plastic box, they are really hard to scoop, and they disintegrate all over the place and stink up the box. This litter noticeably reduced tracking, although it did not completely eliminate it. I'm not sure what makes it work better, but it does. It still gets outside the box, and still ends up in various places around the apartment, but it's much easier to keep up with it. It almost completely eliminates the problem with the pee clumps falling apart. It's much easier to scoop them, even if they touch the sides or the bottom of the box, and they really don't fall apart much at all. The box stays cleaner, generally speaking, and I have to add litter to the box about as often and with about the same amount as I add when I'm using the name brands from the supermarket. When I'm scooping the box, I seem to notice the odor a little more than with the supermarket brands, but I suspect that is because the "fresh scent" is not as strong with this litter. When I'm not squatting directly over the box, I don't notice that this brand has any difficulty controlling the odor compared to the store brands. When I come home from work and open the front door, I notice cat box odor right away most of the time, if there is any. But even though I only clean the box every other day (I have one small cat and it's a large box), I don't seem to notice cat box odors. I might try some other brands just to compare and shop around, but something tells me I'll come back to this one because I know it works better.

Hands down never going back to any litter. It's the best. It's coarser so it doesn't track as much as others. Doesn't get inhaled as much so it's better for all of our lungs. There is NO SCENT that I can tell however a slight scent gets activated after a cat pees. So that's really nice, very soft light slightly sweet, powdery scent. It has great odor control even for my boy and he has STRONG MANLY urine odor. With my girl I can't even smell it. I hate litters that smell like fwvreeze chemicals like wtf cats don't like that lol! Anyway... My cats like it and don't have a problem with it. My cats LOVE "cat attract" from this brand but it's pricier. If u have a cat that marks etc that litter will make them fall in love lol. I found my guy literally LAYING IN THE LITTER BOX when I did a fresh litter change. This speaks volumes... to note there is NO perfect cat litter. My only negative is that it often sticks to litter pan however clumps are hard. That is a price I am willing to pay. I love Dr elseys quality products :)
