Pricey but worth it
The classic is the best. The new model (not this one) is tight around the top of the shoulders/arms. This model is nice and flexible and roomy so you can move around with no issues. Its nice and warm and feel way softer. Overall I like this jacket very much.

Good Quality, some features good in theory, bad in practice.
I really wanted to love this Jacket, but I have a couple gripes.1. The velcro in the breast pockets catch the inner material and make it hard for them to close. Not a huge deal, but I suspect that it will get worse as I wear it more.2. Fit is large for a 4xl. I probably could have gotten a 3x and still been large. I specifically bought it to layer, so not too big of a deal, as I can fit two shirts and a hooded sweatshirt under it and still have room.3. The pull tabs in the pockets to cinch the bottom is a nice touch, however, I can't put my keys in those pockets as I have snagged them a few times and it makes the keys difficult to get out, especially with gloves on.4. Finally, the zipper for the concealment panel seems a little stiff. Might just need to be broken in, and I intend on practicing with it, but I found it faster to just lift the jacket over my firearm.Aside from those things, the jacket is well made and should hold up well to the abuse I'll put it through. Quality seems very high. I really like the design of the inside pockets.

OK but with issues.
Like most all 5.11 products, this is a nice piece of gear with some serious design flaws. In order of most important to me: The jacket is cut for body builders. The shoulders and arms are too full for an average person. In turn, the waist is a bit narrow - if you're over 34" it's not gonna zip - in particular if you've got belt gear. Oddly, as full as the jacket is cut, it still pulls under the arms. They put the waist cinches inside the pockets which gives a clean look but is a real pain if you, you know, actually put things in your pockets. They used velcro closures for the chest pockets - cheap and unforgivable.I bought this to replace a Northface Apex fleece which is same basic design (non-tactical). It serves the purpose - not the same quality but a whole lot cheaper - but I'd definitely have returned it if I hadn't missed the window. Wearing this jacket annoys me enough I bought a cheapo Rothco tactical fleece and its nicer to wear (minus the gear openings on the hips) at less than half the price.

Great colder climate duty jacket!
WARM, COMFORTABLE, PRACTICABLE, & STYLISH! I live in Indiana, so we get a variety of weather through out the year. I wanted something to keep me warm and dry during a snowy and cold shift. A lot of the new Officers get 5.11 gear issued to them. I liked the looks of the 5.11 stuff and everyone said they are warm. I was about to pull the trigger on the 5.11 5 in 1 system coat 5.11 Tactical Men's 5-in-1 Jacket, Dark Navy, X-Large Tall but decided that was just too much to have 2 separate jackets and having to put them together. Plus that cost more. This fleece is thicker than in that 5 in 1 system so it is warmer and so far (after 2 months of colder weather) it has kept me plenty warm! It fits good over my duty belt and wearing a vest and long sleeve shirt. Lots of pockets are nice. Deep hand pockets are great! Cleans up easily. The shoulder fabric is more water resistant which is good for the snow and light rain. I would recommend this to anyone that works outside in colder climates!

Refund came quick - didn't really like the product though.
This one didn't work for me, but I was able to return it quickly and flawlessly, so there's that.It could be my eyes, or my monitor, not seeing the details of the images, but I got a very different idea about what this tactical fleece was before I bought it. I was under the impression it was an all-fleece jacket; y'know, elastic, kind of fuzzy, good for wearing indoors or outdoors, could be used as a liner for a bigger jacket if you live in Washington or Alaska, etc. When I got this jacket though it was only about 50% fleece, and 50% non-elastic nylon. I know 5.11 loves their nylon and it's a high-quality nylon, but this wasn't something you could wear around the house or something. It was more of an outdoor jacket and it wasn't very warm; in fact the nylon made me really cold when I put it on. It was super heavy too but didn't feel like that was giving me much advantage in the warmth department. The pockets were SUPER small too. There was no breathability in this jacket. I thought the snaps were holding me back, but I gained no extra room by unsnapping the snaps. The heck? I like most of 5.11's stuff but not this one. Unfortunately they don't sell their tactical fleece liner by itself anymore so I'll probably need to drop $250 on their 5-in-1 jacket to get a good well-pocketed fleece liner plus jacket, as it seems that not a single other jacket maker knows how nice it is to have 4 or more pockets on a fleece jacket. Except for Kuhl's Interceptr jacket, but that's a thinner fitness jacket that I'm buying the fleece to insulate!

Top tier tactical fleece from a name you can trust.
This is my second 511 tactical fleece jacket, my first being Dept. issue. Now retired I wanted another of my own as I have found this jacket to be one of the best if not the best tactical fleece jackets on the market. It is very warm and wind proof as well as being very water repellent. It is more of a police focused tactical as opposed to military type and is great for CCW holders. These jackets do run a little large so keep that in mind when ordering. I am 6', 200 lbs. and usually wear XL jackets but a size Lg in this jacket fits perfectly.

5.11 does it again.
Very well made. I bought it as a replacement to the original from my 5.11 3in1 which has been going strong for 5 years but some bastard lifted my fleece so had to buy another. To be clear, it is a short cut, but if your wearing a duty belt, it works perfectly. It is generous in its fitting, im 6.4 an 260lbs an while it fits nicely in the shoulders, the arms are very wide, leaning to ridiculously wide but you get used to it, what does need addressing is the sleeve length, for all that size, the arms are short, not what you want in a cold weather jacket. This newer version is not as restrictive at the cuffs as the earlier model, the elastic has some give but keeps the cuff inplace, earlier model I actually cut the elastic as it was waaaay to tight.

Comfortable
I usually wear 3x-4x shirts and jackets. This was 4x and it fit very nicely. Maybe a slightly big but not by much. Plan on using it as an underlayer with my Cabelas Guide Wear jacket (that is also 4x). Fits nicely in it.

Great quality
Great quality. Use for law enforcement, wear under external vest. I’m 6’2” 210lbs, slim build. I’m usually xl to accommodate my long arms but large fit perfect even with my long arms.

Solid, quality construction
Well constructed of high quality materials. Sheriff green is actually olive green and is almost as good as coyote brown which wasn't available.
