I loved the book from front to back. It tells a great story of history of the West Texas area and includes landmarks and characters that are dear to people of the west. Kids will love the story and illustrations !!Kudos the the author and illustrator of Jackrabbit Jewel and Longhorn Cattle Drive.

A well written story that honors the life of a West Texas pioneer ranch woman, while also touching on the history of the historic Goodnight-Loving Trail.

This is a well constructed story for young children wanting to know what early life was like on the Plains and Southwest. Historical details woven into this tale are a nice touch and leave you with something to ponder.

This is a quality children's story encompassing both truth and fiction for readers of all ages. A real Texas tall tale! Hope there are more stories to follow!

Great book for kids. My 7 year old daughter reads it to her 4 year old sister and they love it!
