Making this for our daughter's first. I have made a half dozen birth samplers over the years, but must say thisfloss is not the quality of DMC. Hope it turns out well for the time and effort I am putting into it.

This was the most intricate, time consuming, labor intensive, and loveliest cross stitch I have ever done. But it’s so worth it because despite it all, the finished product was the one I’m proudest of. I’ve given many different cross stitch gifts over the years so I feel confident in this review. The kit came with everything as you would expect. But the pluses-pattern is printed with contrasting colors making it relatively easy to read; the symbols for the different colors are clear and easy to tell apart; the thread is separated and attached to cardboard so you can easily find the color you need; the supply is ample. One thing to note is that except for the personalized section, every inch of the canvas is stitched. This was different for me.

First, I really like that the floss is all separated for you already. My least favorite thing about starting a new cross stitch is separating out all the thread and organizing it. This cross stitch comes with everything nicely labeled and organized, so you can get started as soon as you open it.Second, I've only completed 2 cross stitch projects before. Both of them took me a very long time, and I had a hard time avoiding mistakes that threw me off. The design is broken down into distinct sections, and since each different square has a background pattern, that has helped keep me from making mistakes that are a pain to correct. I recommend completing part of the background pattern for each square before beginning the animal and letter or number. It gives you more points of reference to make sure you've counted off the pattern correctly and to catch and make adjustments for any errors.This will be a gift for my neice, who is due in a few months. I think it's adorable, and the design would work for either a boy or a girl. You won't be sorry if you buy this!

This cross stitch pattern doesn't require mixing colors unlike many others of this size. This may not deter everyone, but if you have troubled eyesight the similar colors because of blended threads can be difficult to see. The pattern is quite easy to follow, so I would recommend to anyone who's not tried a cross stitch of this size. I'm making this for my first grandchild and I can't wait to give it to her. On a side note, the packaging is sealed with a really sticky adheasive. With other kits, I keep all the threading and instructions in the original package. I don't dare on this one (or any other Dimensions brand pattern) because the adheasive sticks to EVERYTHING. Don't chance tearing your instructions or transfering goop to your cloth. I store everything in a gallon sized bag. I will still rate this 5 stars, because I don't think the packaging is really meant to be retained once opend. It's meant to ensure everything stays inside prior to opening.

What I like most is that the thread colors are already separated for you by the theme of the picture! That is awesome, what I am very upset about is once again I have received a dimension birth sampler and The sampler two is missing the needle. Unfortunately I didn’t think to check it before we went on vacation where I had seven days to work on this Crosstitch, now I have to try to find a needle!

I got this to make for my son (coming soon in September!) and started it about a month ago. So far the pattern is very easy to follow and it's something simple yet cute to have for when my son arrives. My only issue is that they have presorted the colors (that's a good thing!) on a lengthwise pice of cardboard and glued them to the cardboard so when you take them off to use them it's hard to keep track of which color is which because there are no holes to tie them to.

Looks even cuter in person! The only thing that worries me is that it might go short on strings. Other than that, so cute! Also, DHL is awesomely quick. They picked this up in the evening of the 16th and I got this at noon of the 18th and I live in Korea.

I finally threw it in the bin. The thread was poor quality so it was difficult to put right any counting errors.I liked the design very much and it was cheap enough but a huge amount of work and not enough thread andwhen I tried to email the company to get some more my email did not get there. Altogether, more botherthan it was worth but perhaps some of it was my fault as I was trying to hurry it to be finished as a Christmas present.
