So like others here, I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how the extension rod worked. Some left negative reviews saying it didn't work. Someone else reviewed that they "figured it out" but didn't bother to say HOW! So I'm going to post it here for others because it took Googling for an hour to find the answer (and it WASN'T on the manufacturer's website! UGH!)In the box, you have two rods with a finial attached at either end and then, what one would THINK, is the center extension rod. Except when you go to use it, you find that it only slides into one of the other two rods but not into the other. What I discovered in my sleuthing is that one of the rods that has the finial already attached is actually the MIDDLE extension rod! So find the one that slips into the larger one. Unscrew the finial from that rod, screw it on to the one you would THINK is the middle extension rod. You should now have the two outer rods and the new "middle" rod that will fit into both ends.After THAT fiasco, the rod itself was actually pretty easy to install. Once I also discovered the nails go in at an angle and not straight in (if they went straight in, you'd never get the hammer past the bracket, so that actually makes sense). As others have mentioned, the bottom of the bracket doesn't sit flush with the wall until you hang the curtains. But once you do, it's actually very sturdy.Hope this helps!

It really was easy to install! For tools, all you need is a small hammer. I took a star off because it's not extremely sturdy, so I wouldn't recommend using it with very heavy curtains. I hung up medium-weight room darkening curtains, but very heavy fabric might not be a good idea. I also took a star off because there weren't any instructions for using the extender - you need to use it as the middle piece, so you'll want to put the 3 rods together (skinny one in the middle of the other 2) before securing the decorative end pieces. I was able to install everything by myself, which says a lot because I'm not handy and haven't been successful with hanging curtain rods before!

The mounting system seems to work, but doesn't sit flush on the wall until the weight of the curtain is added (drywall instalation), which made me a little nervous, but it worked out. The actual rod is light and could bow if under supported, but it functions well and supports the weight of 2 84" blackout curtains just fine. The end caps look nice, the finish as pictured. I am happy with this purchase because I was doing several windows at once and wanted to be economic. If doing just one window, may consider a step up in quality and spend a bit more, but either way these should do the job.

My window is longer 108" wider. This is for a window up to 126".I have a problem the bar is falling down whenever I open the curtains everyday.I had to make 3 holes insert the screw to fix it.The screw is not properly hold the bars.You need to make holes if you don't want this problem. If not, the bar will hit your head.

I bought this curtain rod as a Amazon warehouse deal. The description said the condition was "consistent of being used." What they didn't say was the rod is BENT IN 3 PLACES. The extension rod is stuck inside the BENT rod. How do these morons think the rod can be used when it is BENT IN 3 PLACES and doesn't work! This was nothing but a scam by the moron who thought they could make a buck on it.

This super-lightweight curtain rod was so easy to install! It took me longer to move the ladder than it did to nail in each bracket. These are lightweight and work great in my living room for my decorative curtains. I would not hang anything too heavy from these as they do not feel as though they could support a lot of weight with the nails provided.

I like that the unit is easy to install. I do not like how I was not given enough hardware for the installs and how I ordered 4 at once and they came in two packages a day apart. They do not look bad hanging up, they just appear to be on the lower end of quality, especially when ample nails and brackets are not consistently included within each box, 2/4 do not have a middle bracket.

this is a 3 piece pole set. the middle pole that is supposed to make it longer as an extension does not slide into the ends of the other 2 poles. 3 stars b/c the brackets are easy to install. I kept the set instead of returning just to keep the brackets so i paid $23 for set of brackets. Dont this if you need a long rod.

Filmsy & thin. looks cheap. Just spend the $ on a proper rod that is more substantial. I bought this because of the easy instal. But I would rather buy a better rod and ask someone to instal it for me - then to use this. I thought this would be a little more substantial then what it was. Just did not look nice once I put it up. It easily sags as well because it is thin and bendy. So you have to use super light curtains..

The curtain rod is pewter coloured as expected (a little darker than satin-nickel). But the square finials on the end are even darker, like a gun-metal gray. It still looks pretty good, but the colour disparity is the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars.The brackets have a good set-up for nailing into drywall - they are well designed. Curtain rod brackets are often installed in places where there aren't studs, and this design takes that into account. And the way the curtain rod expands is also well-designed.

I really liked putting this up. Just hammer it in and you are good to hang.
