Airplanes Take Off and Land (PTM Werks) Hardcover – Picture Book, April 28, 2015

We liked this book. It presents a routine small airline flight in a way that kids can understand but that is still reasonably realistic and educational.

If your child is into airplanes and needs a lot more detail about things like the preflight checklist, technical aspects, and procedures this is the book you need! I checked this out for a very precocious two year old from our local library and was delighted with the amount of detail this book goes into. It's a wonderful blend of a fictional storyline with lots of non-fiction material blended in. It is probably more suited for a 4-5 year old and up; however this is a book that will keep your child learning new things even after several readings. Fantastic book to add to your child's library!

Almost perfect, but the pilot didn't pick up his ATIS information and--more importantly--call Ground Control and get permission to taxi. Hate to nitpick, esp. a kids' book as cool as this, but runway incursions are kind of a big deal in the real world.

My 5 year old loves this book! The story is complex enough so we have a lot of details to discuss yet she can grab it and read it to herself if she wants. I am looking forward to using this book and a springboard to having future conversations about how airplanes work and the physics behind flight. Thanks to the author and illustrator for another conversation provoking book about how things work!

This book is visually stimulating and educational for adults and children. I love it. I hope it comes out in paperback and if it was shorten it would be a fabulous board book for toddlers. My son would love to have a poster of the cover to hang in his bedroom.

This is an excellent book about how airplanes/flights work. Very easy to understand for little ones. The illustrations are also terrific. We give this the highest rating!
