MSG flavour enhancer.
Easy to use. Just add a small amount to the food you are making. It really does enhance the flavour.I made a beef stew and tried some of it before adding the MSG, tasting it after was like a different meal.So much more flavour from the meat and vegetables.Recommended.

Pour msg into another container
The bag isn't the strongest so I would recommend pouring it into another container since the bag doesn't reseal very well/easily. Good simple umami flavour. It's a normal msg and good size bag of it.

does the job
MSG (monosodium glutamate) enhances savoury "umami" flavours in food, commonly used in Chinese cuisine. While safe for most, some experience sensitivity. Consider consulting a healthcare professional if unsure. Remember, MSG isn't a direct salt substitute and not all authentic Chinese dishes use it. Explore natural umami sources like mushrooms or tomatoes for alternative options. Choose based on your preferences and sensitivities.that said package is a bit flimsy and getting recipes to say how much to use is hard to findit also doesnt work in a lot of dishes, it wont make a bad cook in to a good cook

Great ingredient, cheaply presented
I’m not an adventurous chef and hadn’t dabbled with ‘neat’ MSG before now, but having tried it, I know I’m going to be reaching for it often, and buying more once this 250g bag is done.It really is a substitute for salt- though the texture is a little bit different in the fingers, it dissolves and disappears exactly like salt and lingers only as a flavour. The flavour is that hard-to-explain, umami flavour that is more or less the ‘magic ingredient’ that explains why takeaway food, even the bad stuff, always tastes better than my home cooking- but now my home cooking has a chance to catch up. Though the headline use for it is takeaway-style food, Chinese in particular, it works in a variety of different ways, and you can even thicken up meat juices into gravy then magically make it taste richer using this stuff. It’s proving very fun to experiment with. The presentation is a little basic, bordering on dodgy-looking- just a plastic bag with a label on the front, it looks more like a catering pack than something for domestic use. The bag doesn’t reseal all that well either. The product photo also misrepresents the product, and makes the contents look more like coconut flakes than the fine, detail-less white powder that it actually is.So I’m knocking a star off for cheap presentation and the poorly resealable bag, rather than for the product itself, which genuinely feels like it’s reinvigorated my cooking.
