Best aid for a developing swimmer.
This won't keep a child afloat if they can't swim at all, but if they can put a bit of effort in, it gives them additional buoyancy and confidence. If they aren't a strong swimmer it will keep them at the surface while they are swimming, but if they are swimming better, they will lift their own body in the water and the fin will lift out more and keep out of their way, unlike armbands etc.My son started lessons at 5 months, started using this when he was big enough (about age 2 or 3, it was his sister's before him) and was very soon confident enough to not want to hold onto me all the time. One slight drawback - as he didn't want to put his face in the water until he was 4, he learned to swim almost upright with it on, and even now almost a year after taking it off, finds it harder to lift his tummy to the surface when swimming on his back. (Although this may be a boy/age thing, he's nearly 5) He was confident to swim without it at about age 4 (when he was happy to get his face wet!)My daughter loved it as her dolphin fin, my son had it as a shark! Other swimmers always admired it and I often felt I should be on commission as I saw other people's children with them after they had spoken to us.It's not advisable to leave the child unsupervised and until they are almost self-sufficient you will probably just need to touch/hold their hand for a sense of security or stability. However, in the final stages before my children were confident enough to go without, I could leave them to manage themselves and they loved jumping in with it on. It is a buoyancy aid though, so they can get carried off by a current if they don't have a strong enough kick (I would NOT use this in open water, but our local swimming pool has an area with a current flowing round it).The twp velcro straps cross the chest (under the arms) and tummy then double back to fasten - smaller bodies don't have a lot of velcro meeting itself, but it fit my slender children by age 3, and I would say it would go round much larger children. The velcro can chafe if not matched up accurately, but a wetsuit, all-in-one swim/sunsuit or T-shirt would fix that if it were a problem.

Great new product helping children learn to swim
I bought this for my 5 year old son to take on holiday during half-term. He is not very brave in the water and although he has had swimming lessons as a toddler and we try to teach him on holiday it has not been very successful. We have got armbands, noodles and various floats but he just tends to cling on to these like a limpet! I thought the swim-fin looked like a good idea and he thought it was quite cool. He could put it on himself after we showed him how - very easy. He was no-where near being able to swim but after using this for a few days he succeeded. He wore the swim-fin on and off for about 4 days. On the 5th day he got braver and wanted to swim without it. After quite a bit of practicing without it he doggy-paddled like a demon! By the 6th day he was swimming a width under-water by himself. The swim fin gave him the feeling of floating at just the right level and his arms were free to move around. He was a bit scared at first because he had nothing to cling on to but I really believe this got him swimming so I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. Having lost my 2 year old niece from a drowning accident, I was desperate for my kids to learn to swim as soon as possible. Not so easy when you have a very nervous child. Anyway, by the end of our holiday we couldn't keep him out of the water (without the swim fin!). A great new product and it is very solid and well-made.

Awesome way to learn swimming for the little ones!
I purchased this for my 2yo nephew and it's absolutely brilliant! He was learning to swim and found the armband too restrictive to swim properly. The SwimFin doesn't have this problem and in his words - it's cool and can swim like a shark! He learned how to swim within a few months and no longer needs to use the SwimFin anymore.The product is of great quality and good value for money. It is easy to fit and not too bulky to carry around. I thoroughly recommend this product if you are looking for something that will help the little ones to learn to swim.

Great product!
Great product! Made my 4 yr old son feel secure and supported in the water! Was concerned the straps would cause a rash as he does it without a t-shirt for 5 days at center parcs so was in the pool for hours everyday and to be fair it didn't really until day 4 and it was barely visable ! Definately recommend worth the money

Great buoyancy aid!
I was sceptical about buying this product as a bouyancy aid especially as it is quite expensive for what it is, effectively a piece of foam, but I'm glad I did. My 3.5 year old has gone from being surgically attached to his swimming ring to being in the water with the fin and a float and much more a "swimmer" than a "floater". It straps on underneath the arms with 2 velcro straps across the chest - the straps are quite firm to start with so I guess with more use they'll loosen up but I'd say if your child (boy) swims just in shorts and has nothing on the chest these straps might hurt at first.The fin tends to make my son lean more towards the water than backwards hence why I give him a float in the water to even out the bouyancy. It's been used in swimming lessons I've sent him too, so clearly swimming teachers rate these as well.

Chulo y práctico
Mi hija de 4 años lo usa y es perfecto porque le da mucha libertad de movimiento y aprende a nadar mejor que con los manguitos.Aún así, yo lo recomendaría a partir de 3 años porque mi hijo pequeño de casi 2 no es capaz de subir la cabeza, por lo que con él utilizamos manguitos.Por lo demás, el diseño es chulísimo y nos ayuda a tenerla siempre a la vista aunque haya otros niños nadando.Una gran compra.

Sorgt für aufsehen!
Wir haben uns diese Schwimmhilfe angeschafft damit unser Sohn die Arme frei hat um sich im Wasser besser bewegen zu können. (Andere Schwimmhilfen schränken unserer Meinung nach zu sehr ein)Die Flosse kam schnell und gut Verpackt an musste aber aufs ausprobieren warten.Einmal angelegt, das funktioniert sehr schnell durch die zwei Riemen um die Brust und über den Bauch ging es dann auch schon los.Söhnchen konnte sich gut auf dem Wasser bewegen und herumtollen und schwamm mit uns ohne Probleme auch im tieferen Wasser allerdings sollte man es am Anfang nicht übertreiben da die Nackenmuskulatur erst aufgebaut werden muss den durch die Haifischflosse muss er seinen Kopf selbständig halten und kann sich nicht wie bei anderen Schwimmhilfen einfach treiben lassen.Die Bewegungsfreiheit ist suuuuper und schnell konnte er sich durch das Wasser bewegen.Ein Weiterer Vorteil ist das er durch diese Flosse gut zu sehen ist da kann man schon mal am Rand sitzen und seinem Kind zusehen wie er am Strand spielt und im seichten etwas Plantscht ohne sofort in Panik zu geraten. (Immer ein Auge auf die Kinder haben wenn sie in der nähe vom Wasser sind, die Flosse ersetzt keine Aufsichtsperson)Im Thermalwasser ist uns aufgefallen das Rötungen an den inneren Oberarmen entstehen wenn man länger im Thermalwasser Planscht vor allem wenn das Wasser sehr Mineralstoffreich ist, das liegt an dem Scheuern der Oberarme an den Gurten, ist aber schnell abgeheilt und hat eigentlich keine gröberen Probleme verursacht, hätten wir uns an die Zeitempfehlung des Thermen-Betreibers gehalten wäre das nicht passiert, konnten aber den lachenden Kinderaugen im Wasser nicht widerstehen und ließen uns hinreisen :)Die Gurte wirken im ersten Moment sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig halten aber gut und sind nicht ganz leicht zu öffnen, nach mehrmaligem Gebrauch und der absoluten Testung durch unseren Sohn der mittlerweile auch vom Steg springt (ca. 1m hoch) wissen wir das die Gurte halten!Auch Rückenschwimmen ist mit dieser Flosse nach ein wenig übung ausgezeichnet möglich.Absolute Kaufempfehlung auch wenn der Preis im ersten Moment schreckt allerdings bei diesen Vorteilen meiner Meinung nach keine Bedeutung mehr spielt. Das Produkt hat unsere Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen.

il prodotto è davvero molto bello ed ha avuto molto successo tra i bambini in piscina. :-)Realizzato con ottimi materiali.La pinna è più grande di quello che può sembrare quindi se voleteacquistarla fatelo solo se il vostro bimbo ha almeno 3 anni e pesadai 15kg in poi. il sistema di chiusura con i felcri è ottimo però consiglio di far indossareuna maglietta leggera per evitare che la pella possa irritarsi.Il bimbo dopo qualche minuto di perplessità si sentirà rassicurato e inizierà a nuotare.Consigliato.Nota negativa: Amazon Prime questa volta non ha funzionato. ordinato il 4 agosto, spedito l'8 e arrivato l'11!!!Capisco che arriva dall'Inghilterra però....

La clásica burbuja de toda la vida renovada en formato de aleta de tiburón. Muy práctica, se ajusta a la perfección al cuerpo del niño y cumple su cometido a la perfección aunque por supuesto no hay que descuidar a los niños ni un momento en el agua

SwimFin is tested against all metal allergies. In some extreme cases allergic reactions can be has to the nylon and rubber content of the items. In these cases please put a barrier between the user and product i.e. Vaseline, swimming costume, t-shirt.
