Completely redesigned, thoughtfully reimagined and still reinventing the way we make video. The Parrot Pro is a major improvement on our original patented design. Made by the team at Padcaster, the ALL-Parrot Pro is a patented, ultra-compact, rugged, simple to use Teleprompter that transforms any smartphone into storytelling powerhouse. Most professional teleprompters cost thousands of dollars and require tools & effort to set up - an expensive, time-consuming headache that gets in the way of your creativity.

Very bad , sad story
I received mine with major ghosty glass. After digging the problem I have found that it is something that touched many people. You have to dig more about it.Gerald Undone who had made a first good review for the kick off had to make another video , (don’t blame him ) and explained how things went wrong , ( to much people wanted the product , many delays , broken glass had to be changed , and for many people a very bad ghosty glass )I have found that mine was much worst that some photos I have seen on the internet. Also the cost for shipment in France is very high.First time I feel to warn people about a product .Be aware of itCheers and hope that they end up to make a reel good product as they claim it

Great Experience for Videos & Interviews
This is a quick review to help balance out some of the vitriol aimed at this product - or more likely at the company. Product reviews should discuss the attributes, pros and cons, of a product and who the product might be good for (or not).I make videos for a YouTube channel. I also help clients produce "talking head" videos. Both of these types of videos benefit greatly from a good script, or at least a clear outline.I have been using this teleprompter for many months, coupled with prime lenses on Fujifilm cameras. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones, but I have been able to load my script into the app, activate the remote and pair to my iPhone, and get going very quickly. I have used it with lenses from 16mm to 35mm focal length, and there have been no issues with the tray or glass blocking the lens, or drooping from the weight of the iPhone. The app has worked flawlessly, and instead of letting it run I usually center a bullet point or paragraph and read it before moving to the next one. I have not had any connection issues or trouble with it over the course of many months of use, and haven't had to change the battery.I have also found the display very readable and have not experienced glare.Perhaps because the display is rather compact, when I read my script on the Parrot Pro my eyes just appear to be looking right at the camera, and friends that have seen my videos have been impressed that it doesn't appear like I'm reading a teleprompter. The only drawback in my experience, as others have noted, is that the compact size makes it difficult to read from a distance. I wear corrective lenses for distance, and when I used a 50mm equivalent focal length and had to back up the camera I had to put on my glasses. But I don't see why anyone would want to place their camera and script far from where they are sitting, so this really shouldn't be much of an issue for most people. I've now arrived at 24mm or equivalent for my own videos, placed fairly close, and everything is working very well.I cannot speak to manufacturing flaws that I haven't experienced, and customer service is irrelevant to this review. In summary, as an inexpensive solution for content creators, or even videographers like myself producing videos for small business, this product is very useful for my needs and I have no current need to find an alternate solution. If quality control and supply can be stabilized, I would recommend it for anyone with similar needs to mine.

Only works on lens that has internal focus
This is a great product but with a few flaws.1- it need more wide opening on top because the text might be obstructed if you are a bit higher than camera height.2- the weight of the phone in the plate makes the whole thing heavy on the lens and if you use a lens that have outer focus it will stop the camera due a lens malfunction.

Bad customer service, no support or warranty
I bought this in good faith, knowing their prior product. The remote stopped working after a month, tried changing the battery. the remote is dead.Asked for a replacement, they responded once asking for proof of purchase. I supplied this and they have not responded to multiple emails over 2 months.I would not trust them, nor buy from them again.

UPDATE Double glare Issue hard to read, Bad Plastic Smell.
I recently received the first batch of my Parrot Pro, and I am reaching out regarding my concerns and the need for a refund. Unfortunately, I have not received any response from Kickstarter Padcaster.Upon inspecting the product, the first noticeable issue is the unpleasant smell of the plastic used. While I understand it may be due to shipping from China, it's something that needs addressing. The smell, reminiscent of burnt plastic, is quite immediate upon opening the package. The main issue I've encountered is with the teleprompter's glass. It produces a double glare, akin to double vision, particularly noticeable at certain angles. This significantly affects the reading experience. Comparatively, the glass quality is not up to par with my current teleprompter, and it seems there was a lack of quality control in this aspect.Additionally, I've observed that the rings for the camera attachment are not as secure, leading to micro-scratches on my GM Sony lens. While my lens is old, it's still frustrating to experience damage due to a product's design flaw.I am disappointed with the overall product quality, especially considering the price of $127 on Kickstarter with an additional shipping cost of $20-90. It's disheartening to think that backers who supported the project may be at a disadvantage compared to those purchasing from other platforms.I have reached out to Josh and Padcaster via email regarding a refund, but unfortunately, I have not received any response. I believe it's crucial to share my experience with others to prevent them from facing similar issues.I am open to resolving this matter amicably, but I genuinely believe that potential buyers should be aware of these issues before making a purchase. I plan to share pictures later, but my primary concern at the moment is obtaining a refund.UPDATE 1/19/23, Update, they wont let me edit the first post so ill continue from here. They wont give me a refund, so at this point i have nothing to lose. This company is so unbelievable, they don't know when they can ship out or replace my defected teleprompter. They want me to return the defected teleprompter, but want me to front the shipping cost on my end! which is about $40-60bucks. So with this new intel, of not knowing when to give me a new version of their teleprompter, and having to ship it back to them on my cost is outrageous and high way robbery. Very incompetent company, and should be investigated for this practice to the FCC. Kickstarter wont do anything either.
