The idea behind this is that you can get a man in your life a nice set of things, all packaged in one luxury package. The whole thing comes in a nice box, packed in such a way that it is like a series of small surprises. In the box you will find: a ‘Best Dad Ever’ card, a hardback notebook, a key tray, a ‘Year of Treats’ and a large mug.The ‘Best Dad Ever’ card does limit the recipients of this gift; no uncles, grandads, brothers, colleagues or other men you know.The note book is of good quality and is embossed with the slogan ‘Man with a plan’.Key tray. This made of leatherette and uses poppers to stick together. This has ‘Man Things’ embossed on itThe mug is really big and seems of high quality. There are no care instructions printed on the bottom, but I should think it’s both dishwasher and microwave safe.Year of Treats: I found this really cringey! The idea is that each month you randomly choose a card, on which is printed a ‘treat’ activity. The problem is that most of the activities are things that an adult has licence to do anyway and aren’t really treats. Watch a sunset? I already do this regularly. Have a take away? The same! Have a bubble bath? If I wanted one, I could have one. They read like they were decided upon in a brainstorming meeting and the ideas were getting thin on the ground after just a few. Also, it doesn’t feel like a gift, but rather like you’ve been given a responsibility.Would I be pleased to receive this gift? Yes, I think so. I generally don’t like ‘man’ gifts, but most of these things are genuinely useful and don’t lean too heavily on the tired tropes of things men are supposed to like (beer, flatulence, bbq, card etc). The treat cards would get relegated to a drawer until the giver had forgotten about them

I am reviewing this as a Vine Customer so have photographed it basically as it comes so you can see how well packed it is.The box has the look and feel of a Luxury item in that it is very thick and a royal blue colour. On opening it you find a 'Man with a Plan' hardback note book which is wrapped in a tissue sleeve, this is on top of a 'Man Things' tray. This leatherette tray comes flat and is assembled by snapping together the press studs in the corners.Under this is another sturdy box with a very nice mug inside. This is a large mug with a large handle and is very good quality. Finally you find what looks like another box but in fact it is just a section holding the 'Year of Treats'. This I found to be the most unnecessary item and would have preferred a nice pen to go with the book. The idea is that each month you take a card and carry out the suggestion printed on it. Suggestions include:Take a Hike - to your favourite spotPicnic - sandwiches in the yard or a feast in the park - you choose.Considering this is a Happy Birthday gift for a man, more bizarrely:Spa Night a bubble bath just for youLet's Boogie - Dance like no one is watching.There is also a blank card for you to put your own idea on.I cannot fault that it is a luxury item and would be perfect for someone you did no know that well and did not know what to get. But for someone like my son, son-in-law or husband then at £29.95, I think I could find something more to useful for them.

This gift set is very nicely presented.In the box you get a mug, leatherette tray, a notebook, treat cards and gift card.The mug is a good size, it's dishwasher and microwave safe.The notebook is fabric covered with an embossed wording on the front, an elasticated closure and ribbon bookmark.The tray is two colours and assembled with poppers on the corners.The treat cards come in a little wallet.Where I'm in two minds is -I like the mug. It's a decent size.The notebook is good but hubby said he'd prefer it if it was plain on the front.The tray and gift card are fine,The treat cards are strange as they really wouldn't suit many people. Things like 'look at the stars' and 'watch a movie'.I wouldn't gift these and something like a nice keyring might have been nicer.

This gift set comes with some very useful items for a man. I could see my husband using almost everything that is included in this kit. The items are really well packaged, presented so nicely when the box is opened. Not sure about the Year of Treats item, I feel that could have been something better like maybe a pack of coffee to go with the mug or perhaps a minimalist wallet or keychain. Regardless the leather tray is very nice. It comes flat so just have to fold and snap the corners. It's the perfect size to put down some jewelry and perhaps a wallet and keep it all contained in the tray. The notebook is very beautiful, lovely deep blue colour, accented with a gold elastic to keep the book closed. It's so classy looking and sized small enough to be able to be held with one hand easily. This entire box is really well packaged and the manner in which everything is packed inside, makes the gifts present so well to the recipient.

This is a small gift basket for men. It contains a mug, notebook, a box of 12 treat suggestion cards, and a faux leather storage container, and it all comes in a nice box for gifting.The mug is a large heavy ceramic mug. It is nicely crafted and has a large handle. The notebook is hard covered with a gold elastic bungie strap to hold it closed. The notebook pages are good quality paper. The small box of suggestion cards allow you to select a suggestion once a month for treats to last you a year. The faux leather storage container lays flat for storage itself, but has snaps at the corners to allow it to quickly become a square tray.The box is a nice small gift idea tailored to men. I'm not going to review based on price because that is subjective, but the gift box on its own is nice.

I got this as a gift and I really love all of it! Not sure what these other reviews are on about!? Everything looks like the pictures but better in real life. That mug is really impressive. Recommend this when you have a man in your life you don’t know what to buy for!

This is a pretty nice gift set for a man, especially for a man who is difficult to buy for. It is very nicely presented in a series of gift boxes and/or tissue wrap, and everything is of very good quality.The book is exceptionally nice with its premium paper and hard cover along with its placekeeper elastic that doubles as a closure.The catchall tray is a nice size and made of good quality leather. It snaps together in the corners to make the sides stand up and is very useful for containing keys or coins or odds & ends that seem to always end up in a man's pockets, and the colour and size should go with any decor really.The bottom two boxes contain the coffee mug and the little 'give yourself a gift each month' game. The coffee mug is large sized and seems to be of very good quality. A simple blue and white pattern, with a good heft to it and nice smooth sides and edges. The little cards for the monthly 'treat' are really cute but not 'cutesy' in the sense that a man won't like them. I think it's a really nice addition, actually.All around, I would recommend this if you need a gift for someone who is difficult to buy for and I think that the quality of the items shines through.

Coffee mug is legit. Doubles as a weapon. Also like the man things thing. My man liked it for his birthday.
