The feel and size of the paddle handle, the dark color (which makes the balls easy to see against it), the weight (not too heavy), the size, the picture.There's a TEXTURE to the surface of the paddles; the lines of the sign are imprinted into the surface, and there are also little tiny craters throughout the surface over it. I hope you can see in the close-up pictures I took. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! It's not like a textured graphite paddle. It seems cheap, but the texture is definitely intentional, so I'll give it a try.I'll update this review about the feel and play after I play the game with these. I've been playing long enough to know when I like the feel of paddles, as I've played with many different friends' paddles.

Ironically... before this instance, I never knew pickleball even existed.On that note, onto the good stuff.Everything comes packaged in a clean little cloth bag. The bag measures 9.5x16x2"The whole set, including bag, weighs in at a lofty 26.1oz.The paddle grips, which appear to be wrapped in neoprene, or a similar foam, feel decently good in the hand.The smell may be off-putting to some, until everything off-gasses. The odor is similar to naphthalene, and is likely a byproduct of manufacturing.The paddles also remind me of something one would use for ping-pong. The faces claim to be made fromfiberglass, though they feel like some sort of laminated plastic. The acoustics do seem to reflect the former though.The added graphics are a nice touch as well.The four supplied balls are similar to those found in a whiffleball set. They're likely made from either nylon, or ABS.Overall, this feels like a decent set, either for those just getting started, or are perhaps veterans in the sport.From my experience with it so far, I would definitely recommend giving this set a shot.

I have a couple of pickle ball sets now. When I saw the value of this set, I had to get it so I would have an extra set for the neighbor kids to come and play with us. The handles are just the right size for little hands. The edges have a protective edge so when the paddle hits the ground, and it will with the little ones, it won’t get damaged. It comes with four balls. Two for indoor and two for outdoor play. The bag that comes with the set is nice. Everything fits in it. There is a mesh pocket on the outside of the carrying bag. It does make a lot of noise when you hit the ball but that’s part of the fun. Now when we go to the park, everyone has a paddle. The balls bounce off the ground and they are easy to see. I like the bright colors. I think this is a great starter set for the littles. I would definitely recommend getting this set for your little ones. Adults will enjoy using these paddles and balls as well.

These paddles have good power and a large sweet spot (basically anything inside the outer ring of graphics) that make these good paddles for beginners. The face has little texture other than the top-printed graphics, which won't affect play. They have a nice balance and produce moderate noise. The paddles came with a generic bag and four balls, which I won't be reviewing.The face is 10.1 mm thick. The paddle measures 15 3/4" by 7 7/8" with a 4 5/8" long handle. The grip is 4 1/2" around and has very soft ridges. The grip has a nice oval shape to help with intuitive paddle alignment.During play this is a fairly typical paddle with a slightly larger sweet spot than other paddles in its class. It can produce minimal spin, but lots of power, which is better for the long game than playing on the kitchen line.Importantly, these paddles ARE USAPA Approved, which means that this paddle can be used in sanctioned tournaments. Many paddles are not approved, even if they say they are, but you can easily check on the USAPA website.
