Work great, once installed!
Heeding some of the other reviews, I did go to the hardware store to get some shorter screws to mount these to my Rhino Rack Vortex crossbars. That saved me the problem that several others have mentioned. The rack itself performed flawlessly and could easily be compared to the name-brands. It held my skis easily and locked well. Perfect addition to our rack for winter use!

Cheap Garbage! DO NOT BUY!
I bought this rack just before Christmas, and the snow here in the PNW has been just terrible this year, so we didn't get to go during the holidays. I kept putting it off, with a million other more pressing things to do, and did not get around to installing it on my car until now. It attaches onto my Highlander racks just fine. UNFORTUNATELY, once installed, the back rack will latch with much effort, but the front rack will not latch shut at all with any skiis on the rack, rendering it COMPLETELY useless. And, of course, I'm 10 days past the return date... I do not see any link to contact the company either about this faulty product. So, it's my own stupid fault for waiting too long to test it out. The plastic latch on this rack feels cheap. I should have just spent more money on a better quality rack. Now, I'm out $115 with NOTHING to show for it, and have no rack to tote our family's skiis up to the mountain tomorrow. ☹️ Hope I can save someone else from making the mistakes that I did with this rack!

Item description said new but the item was already been rusted , bent and dirty
I was excited to finally had a chance to install the rack, but when I openes the box this is what I see. The rack is nicely made however the joints were rusted and doesn’t open smoothly anymore. The rest you can see on the photos..

Versatile Roof Rack
This rack could be used for any number of things. We're using it for our snowboards. It was fairly easy to install, and fits a variety of bar shapes. I have a nice snowboard, so I appreciate the rubber strips which protect the board's finish. Also, you can't beat the peace of mind from having a locking rack, so that you can run a quick errand and not worry about someone stealing your gear. The locks are a little fritzy and tricky to get used to, but I figured it all out pretty fast. Seems like excellent quality hardware.

Car rack for snowboard
So I thought this had everything needed for a roof rack but I still needed the crossrail for my 2022 Subaru Outback. I did put my snowboard in this rack and it secured really nicely. The hardware looks very heavy duty. I would have zero concerns of it coming lose once I get it attached to my car.

does not hold 6 pairs of skis
product profile states it holds 6 pairs of skis or 4 boards. The first line of the use instructions states"Do not carry more than 4 pairs of skis or more than 2 boards on the carrier."

Super easy install & sturdy
This is a really nice roof rack ski rack for racks that are squared, flat or rounded. The locking mechanism works great once you get the hang of it - just need to make sure the key is lined up in the lock position before trying to lock them. Sometimes a little jiggling is needed but I haven't had a problem with it after the first few uses. It is super easy to install and uninstall with the included nut-tabs for tightening the mount screws are large and easy to tighten with the included Allen wrench. I actually had the right size bit for my cordless drill that fits so its a simple zip-zip with my drill for us which is great. I like this set-up vs. twist nuts that can be installed by hand which makes it easy for thieves to uninstall too. This way someone has to come with tool in hand to try and steal which is just more difficult and hopefully a good deterrent. The racks themselves are plenty sturdy and once locked hold strong. I actually accidently bashed it on my work's parking structure height limit bar cause I did not account for the extra 5" it added to my SUV - Oops - It knocked the parking bar down but not a scratch on the racks or any damage to the mounting screws. I was very impressed & learned that I must take them off prior to going to work. The ski rack's locking mechanism is a little hinky until you get it figured out and the key must be in to lock it. To me the locked & unlocked symbols are backwards but after a few times I had it down. Tip - make sure the slide is pushed ALL the way in or you will struggle with getting it locked. Its a little thing but after a long day of skiing I was struggling with it until I noticed that the rail wasn't pushed in all the way & that is why it wouldn't lock. The padding on the slide rails that actually holds the skis is really thick and sturdy feeling - there is enough give to make for a tight hold. The 25" rack held 2 snowboards back-to-back & 2 sets of skis with room for a set of poles after careful & tight placement - perfect for my family. I really didn't use the sliding part much - just not really needed for our setup. The height of the rack is perfect - holds the skis up high enough that the bindings do not touch the roof. There was no discernable sound from the racks when driving. We are Very happy with this ski rack system and got a lot of use out of it this season.

Fitting
Have a 2014 Honda Civic. It doesn't lock in all the way but it's manageable for two snowboards. Installation is a process so definitely youtube it for sure. For the price and what we got is okay. Better ones out there but I like this one for what we want it for.

Cheap Garbage
Both bars were broken upon arrival. Both had the lock cylinder snapped off from the bar and one also had the latch mechanism snapped off.The plastic is super thin where the lock cylinder attaches, can’t imagine it would stop even a toddler from taking your equipment, if it didn’t break on the way to the hill. Mine didn’t even make it to the car.Save your time and money and try a different one.
