Can this tripod hold my sons Telmu Telescope?
can this tripod be fitted with ground spikes to prevent it blowing over in wind
What is the maximum weight it can handle? I have Canon 70D and if I mount it with my 70-200 lens, will it hold? The total weight would be around 2,5kg

Flimsy and easy to break but does as said and matches the cost
Bought for: holding a laser level (electrician)Cons: Working in the construction industry I expect this stand to break fairly quickly as it will be thrown about and knocked from time to time. It uses small rivets to hold the struts and appears to be plastic on plastic rather than bearings for the rotation, etc, so alterations are a little jerky.Pros: The stand does exactly as described. Although flimsy, It doesn't wrobble and all the locks work fine. It is really light (same weight as a can of beer) and folds up small and neat. One of the cheapest stands at around £14Overview: If you want something tough & robust that can be treated roughly over time this isn't for you but if you want a stand that will be looked after and not thrown about then this will do the job fine.I would give it 2-3 stars if it was more expensive but at £14 (March 2023) I will give it 5 stars as it is good value for money

Careful now
Very easily adjusted for height and angles, and does a great job of keeping your camera/projector in place. It will topple quite easily if brushed against or someones bangs into it. I use an adhesive/tac to stick down the 3 legs. This works very well on a wooden surface. Happy with it, just use caution if you need to leave it stand alone.

Great small, lightweight tripod - but why the plastic bag?
Bought this as a replacement to mount my webcam on when I connect my laptop to the lounge TV, for various online Teams/Zoom meetings with healthcare professionals, social services and the like, for one of my sons.I couldn't work out what the difference was between the models Star 5, Star 75 and Star 700, they all go up to a height of 125cm and the pictures of all three appear identical - I must be missing something? The tripod comes with a thin black plastic carry case and it arrives inside this, in the box. BUT the tripod inside the case has been put into a clear plastic bag!! WHY??? Hama appears to be a German company from the company name and address on the box - the Germans really should know better! This is an utterly unneeded use of single-use plastic, and could be eliminated in the blink of an eye!!The tripod itself is well made and as a lightweight tripod, is very sturdy for expected uses. I see someone in the construction has left a review describing it as flimsy, but I wouldn't buy a lightweight tripod in such circumstances. I wanted something small and lightweight as I won't ever use it in demanding situations, and it fits the bill perfectly. Just a real shame about the plastic bag!

Good for a compact light weight tripod word well enough
Liked the compact ability of the tripod but it felt a little flimsy I mounted a spotting scope on it once I got used to it the pan and tilt functions it provided a good steady platform for the scope but I never felt comfortable with the build quality too much pressure it creaked a bit my older one takes more abuse than this one but it’s ok for supporting cameras or scopes

Great buy.
Bought this for a laser level. It had extendable legs that bring it to waist height. Comes with a nice carrier bag. Good price point.

Great!
Well, I usually use a Manfrotto tripod (190XPROB legs + MN-804RC2 head) but it is big, long and heavy, so I thought I would buy something smaller and lighter for the odd trip in the tube when taking pictures in C. London. I found this tripod and thought that for £10 I couldn't go wrong: even if it was useless for me, I would just order something else and give this one to a friend of mine that has got a nicer point & click camera). When I unpacked this thing I thought it wouldn't do the job I had in store for it. My camera + lens combination is about 1.6Kg and I was afraid it wasn't going to take it, but after playing around with it at home it actually proved to be reasonably stable. I then took it out for a field trip and it performed everything that I asked of it. Obviously it cannot match the bigger and heavier tripod for solidity and vibration protection, but by keeping in mind the limitations of this £10 piece of kit I achieved fantastic results and couldn't be happier. If you're an amateur that just want to be able to get some good shots in low light/night conditions you can't get anything better than this for this price (or even double the price, as I saw tripods of exactly the same quality going for £25 at the high-street stores).

This is good kit, but really too short for binoculars ( my usage), or camera. You will note that there are 3 extensions per leg, the lowest has a tight-clip. Pop along to your local hardware shop and buy a length of metal tube that will fit over the leg, and rest against that clip. Cut into 3 (for whatever height you require) and use jubilee clips to bolster the plastic clip. It's up to you whether you want batter the pole-ends into a point, or add something 'pointy' to them. This works for me - but will you always be on grass? If you can't be bothered with the afore-mentioned, just use the usual method of tying something heavy to the leg-spreaders!"}},{"@type":"Question","name":"What is the maximum weight it can handle?
