Safariland 4556 3-Gun Competition Case, Black

For being the cats meow. It's missing inside straps to hold down the individual long guns. If you have short rifles they just rattle around in the large compartment. The backpack straps are not that comfortable at the top. There's a gap at the top where the backpack strap hooks to the bag. That gap is noticeable when wearing it as a backpack. My competitive pistol backpack strap is stitched directly to the bag and that makes it much more comfortable. And the back pack strap came loose a few times while trying to wear it like a backpack and it fell off my shoulders twice. Other than that the material is heavy duty quality. But expected more from all the hype.Update: Its been 7 months. The bottom of the right front pocket stitching has come apart. All my little gear fell out the bottom somewhere between here and Virginia. Didn't know there was a hole till I went in the pockets and found a big opening at the bottom. Now keep in mind I only use this to transport gun to and from the range. While at the range the bag is in a buggy. Really would have expected it to last longer. There are multiple places where the material and stitching is beginning to fray.

This thing is billed as a 3 gun case. Normal 3 gun shotguns have a + 8 mag extension making 12 in the tube. I just assumed that since this case was designed for 3 gun play that it would accommodate a normal 3 gun shotgun and tube but it does not. I had to cut the extension opening in the fold out extension and build in an extra 3 inches to fit my shotgun. Not something you want to do on brand new case. It is partly my fault for not measuring my shotgun before ordering and Safarilands fault for the description of a 3 gun competition case.

This case is better than all the other double rifle cases I have seen or used. The only thing that could be changed is that there are no straps to hold the weapon in the position, this becomes a problem when it is on your back. Every now and then the guns will shift from side to side and give you a little jolt. Great contruction and very smooth heavy duty zippers. The storage pockets have great place to store four AR-15 mags on one side and four VEPR 12 13 round magazines with plenty of room for ammo as well, perfect for what I need. Great product and value.

This is a high quality bag. Holds everything I need for a competition. Great product!

My only complaint is that the extension pocket for the shotgun is extremely hard to 'flip out' unlike the videos the manufacturer posts.Also the 'third gun' of a handgun is not obvious where to put it, and my M&P CORE 5L doesn't fit well in the multiple places i've tried.

Love this gun case. It was way better than the Midway bag which the backpack strap tore on the second time I used it. This bag is very sturdy and has plenty of pockets for things.
