Great book
I think this is a great book for students and even teachers could use this to enhance Science lessons. Interesting and would keep interest of struggling, inattentive readers. It has experiments that can be done very easily.

This is a fun, fascinating Fog Zombie mystery that will entrance the young reader ...
Angie and Alex Rayez's were excited as they approached Camp Dakota, but when they saw the camp was socked in with fog their eyes grew wide. They told their father it looked really scary, but when he said, "fog is just a cloud that is near the ground" and that it was "made up of small water droplets in the air, just like a cloud," they began to relax. When they arrived in the camp they were greeted by Counselor Kyle who introduced them to two brothers, Braelin and Rashawn. Braelin didn't waste any time showing off and before you know it he was demonstrating his egg trick. It was all about water density, but just to be annoying he just had to mention the Fog Zombie. WAAAAAH!Rashawn quickly gave his younger brother a light rap upside the head for scaring the twins and told them there were "no such things as zombies." Ignoring his brother Braelin told Jordan that the Fog Zombie was going to get him. Angie told Counselor Kyle she thought the story was made up, but he said there had to be some logical explanation for the moaning "zombie sounds" that were heard at night. There was rustling in the bushes and Jordan found a cryptic note. "Is the Dakota Zombie giving you the chills? The solid truth will soon flow your way." More notes began to appear. Was there really a Dakota Zombie and would it come that night to get them? This is a fun, fascinating Fog Zombie mystery that will entrance the young reader. Everyone from the science detective, mystery buff, to the reluctant reader will enjoy tagging along with the campers at Camp Dakota as they try to figure out where the eerie sounds are coming from. The concept of matter and its forms (solid, liquid, or gas), as well as mass, are introduced into the mystery to explain unusual and sometimes creepy, spooky things happening at the camp. There are numerous, informative sidebars that add interesting science vignettes. For example, one says: "Molecules in matter move faster and spread out when they heat up. That makes the matter expand." In the back of the book are two experiments, "Cloud in a Jar," "Wire Stretch," a list of "Mysterious Words" and some additional tips that might have helped solve the mystery of who or what the Fog Zombie was. This book courtesy of the publisher.

My son doesn't like to read but he likes these books
My son who is in second grade brought home this book from the school library. At first I was like this is a comic book and this doesn't count but he liked the book. Coming from a mom who struggles to get her son to read I'm jumping up and down yelling out YAHOO!!! I of course ran down to the library to see if we could find any others and unfortunately only found one more in the series. I gave it to him to read on the way home from school and 20 minutes later when we pulled into the driveway he was still reading. Not only did he continue to read but he didn't jump up and out of the van and make a mad dash for the front door. He stayed in his seat reading. He likes that we can do some of the simple little experiments here at the house and since I'm a real big advocate of hands on learning this was great. My only dilemma is finding more books like this.

Great for 1st grader
My son is 7 and he loves this series. I wish all of them were available on Kindle Unlimited for him to read. We have also enjoyed trying the experiments at the end of the books.

Fun Book for Kids
My kids enjoyed this book so much that I bought all eight books in this series! These books have good integration of science into kid-friendly graphic novels, including an experiment at the end of each volume.

Cool
This is a kinda cool book & the last bit was really cool I didn't know that if you put 2 chairs a foot or 2 apart with a string connected to each of the chairs with a metal object in the middle with a candle on the metal wire would make it ''hover''.

Bring on the next adventure
I just read this graphic novel to my 6, 8 and 10 year old children before bed. I found it amazing that someone could write a pretty good story with so many explicit science facts, experiments and theories along the way. I thought the kids would get bored when the main gist of the story took a turn to introduce some explicit science facts but they wanted me to keep reading to the end. The 6 year old was happy to leave half way through. We will definitely read more from this series.
