Verbena hastata 'Blue Spires' / Blue Vervain/Hardy Perennial/Bee Friendly/Seeds

Great value for money as described, will be purchasing again.

I planted these seeds in December and saw no signs of life until late April. These seeds require cold weather to get them started. I planted mine in small pots and did not bury the seed, instead placed them on the surface and top covered them with a fine layer of grit. I left them outside through all cold winter and did not fuss over them at all, just a very occasional watering. Spring arrived and these verbena started to wake up and I now have healthy little plants. I’m not sure if they flower in their first year but I’m just pleased to see they are growing well.

Not a single germination from all the seeds sent, followed the instructions on the packet and not a seedling in sight. Very disappointed.

Sown late summer, lots of seedlings, now small plants. I'm hoping that they over winter ready to plant out in spring. Temp crucial for germination so read the instructions. Ink jet labels and instructions so don't store them in a damp place as everything runs !!!

seeds arrived in good condition complete with planting instructions. Now waiting for suitable sowing temperatures to trigger germination.
