The Entertainer (NTSC) [DVD]

This has been a confused purchase. The first order arrived with Disc1 missing and it was not easy to send it back to the states… so far I’ve not received my credit.The second box was fine and it arrived much quicker. I’ve played the first two discs and they are magnificent , what an artist is Garth. Well worth the hassle.

Troyal Garth Brooks, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, released his first self-titled album in 1989, and spent the 1990's dominating the country music scene.In that decade he had over 70 hit singles,15 charted albums, and over 115 million albums sold in the U.S. alone.Throughout the decade of the 90's he broke all sales and concert attendance records.This is an artist who has sold more records in the US than Michael Jackson.This five DVD collection is an excellent introduction to his music, containing over 7 hours of live performance and music-video material.The concert footage is amazing and brilliantly filmed, capturing the electric atmosphere of Garth in concert very well.The only moan I might have is that the sound does not seem to have been mixed to give excellent audio quality.You will see Garth's concerts at Reunion Arena, Dallas Texas (September 1991), the Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas (September 1993), Croke Park in Dublin Ireland (May 1997) and Central Park New York (August 1997), the latter in front of an estimated audience of 750,000.The fifth disc collects all of his greatest hit videos.All the discs are housed in a smart collectors tin box.The perfomances are superb, the presentation of this collection fantastic, and the value unbelievable, at less than £15.00.I would stongly recommend this collection.

Bought this box set a few day's ago, Feb 2014, I haven't had a chance to see all five dvd's, however the two I have seen are fantastic. They were recorded in 14 as against 16, so if your tv is a wide screen and very few are not these day's, there will be the black bar on either side of screen. The set was recorded in NTSC which as every school boy, or school girl know's, it will play no problem in the UK or Ireland. Dvd's recorded in PAL will not play the other way around! I would recommend this box set it is well worth the money and is excellent entertainment.

Only the fact a lot of the talk with the crowd being cut lost this the last star... I missed the banter with "Jimmy" during the central park dvd especially..

I have viewed this DVD collection and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had trouble finding this item then a friend of mine introduced me to Amazon. I have not regretted this at all, in fact i will look again at some time in the near future for more things which I would like to get.

I love Garth Brooks and i have been looking for a DVD of his for ages even going to Canada i couldnt get one there either!! So when i saw The Entertainer on Amazon i was ecstatic so i bought it but unfortunately the quality is quite poor so whoever or whatever has transfered it to disc didnt do a right good job but to be fair it could be the quality of the Video that they have taken it from but it is till good dont get me wrong but my only comment is the quality really.

Very pleased with product

Anyone who likes country music will love this collection of music. Garth Brooks really is an entertainer, but still comes across as being very humbled by the reaction of his fans to his music. I loved it!
