TAMIYA 300012646 – scale 1:35 WWII Zimmerit Panther G Early

I bought this expecting a challenge. I didn't buy this thinking it was going to be an easy job. Neither should you. It's not stupidly hard, but requires some patience. The end result is very good indeed, and replicates the original zimmerit very well. Just read the pamphlet and double check before applying. Would probably be good for kitbashing on other tank kits.

This item is the zimmerit coating sheet for the Tamiya 35065 Panther SdKfz 171 Ausf A 1:35 model kit - it has been badly described in the Amazon catalog.The item consists of a plastic sticky back sheet onto which the zimmerit shapes required are embossed. Use a sharp knife to cut out each item from the sheet and simply stick to the model part required. Instructions are included.I have used this and other Timiya zimmerit sheets on my models and the finished effect after painting is very good.

Fitting the zimmerit is not an easy task, some pieces are slightly larger that the part they cover, others are too small or are expected to go on parts that should have moulded zimmerit already.
