Mary Fedden: Enigmas and Variations

I bought myself this for Christmas and it was really exciting. It's a brilliantly detailed overview oglf Mary's work.My only criticism us, I do wish they had made the images of the Little Lions larger, you can hardly see them. Mary was a decorative painter who had a happy life although she was far from wishy washy. If you want to look and read about charming and meaningful work, this is for you.

Beautifully illustrated book with this prolific artist's colourful works. Great to leaf through over and over again and always discover something new. The writing is highly enjoyable and well informed which brings the artist and the private person to life. I'm very glad I purchased this book and I thoroughly recommend it to everybody who is an art lover, even the ones who think that Fedden is "not their cup of tea", they might just be surprised..!

This is such a beautiful book. I knew of Mary Fedden but was not all that familiar with her paintings. They are quite lovely! She lived to a good age which I find inspiring as she continued to produce her lovely paintings right up to the end of her life.Inspiring!

Everything about this book is delightful.The paintings, drawings, text and the feel of the book itself.If you want to have a little bit of magic to yourself then buy this wonderful book and drift off into a delightful trance of colour, composition, poetry and draftsmanship of the first order.

Mary Fedden is a lovely painter lately deceased in her 90's. Her paintings sell for a lot of money so it lovely to have a coffee table book or a reference book lying around to see what she did over the years even if I cant afford one.
