Hilka48404500 Pro Craft Tungsten Steel Tap and Die Set (45-Piece)

This very same set was on Screwfix for £146.99, on amazon only £84.99 so a no brainer. Definitely quality taps and dies that should last a lifetime if treated correctly. The only thing that makes me laugh is the mickey mouse screwdriver. Why that was included I will never know. The case is good and solid but beware on dropping it as I doubt the plastic insert would stand it. contains both normal and fine Metric threads from 6mm to 24 mmIt cleaned up and rethreaded my wheel bolts that I crossed a bit with my torque wrench that would have cost £20 0r more to replace and was able to run the Tap in the hub threads making them perfect again so it saved me there and will no doubt be useful for many other jobs. A must if working on older French cars.Edit June 2023. Found more uses for it in the 6 mm standard die and threaded 6mm stainless rod to create some special "U" brackets for a Televes aerial. The standard galvanised tend to rust in the salty Cornish air. The ones I made will last me out. They will not rust out.

Very comprehensive set and well made.

Better than the price would suggest, a friend who is a professional engineer could not fault it. Only quibble was the Christmas cracker screwdriver included.
