In the Highest Traditions of the Royal Navy: The Life of Captain John Leach MVO DSO

I have been fascinated by the saga of Force z and HMS The Prince of Wales for years. I even motorised the Tamiya kit! I have heard nothing but admiration for this captain, so I eagerly awaited this book. I was not that impressed, because the early years are a very simple sketch and the force Z area was not that well researched. There are some surprises in there and the chapter about attempts on the code breaking of the Japanese navy transmissions was new, but some facts were wrong and some opinions were ill- informed. It might be worth buying, but if you want the best book, Marder's Old friends, new Enemies is the best for Force Z. I don't feel that i know a lot more about this superb officer.
