Thirty Professionally Mounted Arthropod Specimens
The professionally preserved thirty-piece collection of insects and other arthropod specimens in resin is an interesting item for biologists, entomologists, students and even children. The details of each arthropod are preserved and the differences between the species are clear. This collection of arthropods features two each of fifteen different species including, beetles, butterflies, scorpions, a cricket, hornet, cicada, spider, and a crab. The arthropod specimens are preserved in highly polished, transparent acrylic blocks. The edges of the acrylic blocks are beveled to give each specimen a professional look. The dimensions of the acrylic blocks are 43 mm x 27.5 mm x 19 mm, and the weight of each specimen block is approximately 28.7 grams. The box that the specimens were shipped in can be used to store and protect the easily scratched acrylic specimens. How would I use this professionally preserved collection of examples of arthropods? I have used these specimens to entertain and educate my grandchildren. Some of the grandchildren are afraid of insects, while others closely examine the specimens. They can group the arthropods by comparing their bodies, including the number of legs, wings, and body shapes. What are the differences between butterflies and moths? Common names can be used to describe the arthropods, such as, crab, scorpion, beetle or butterfly. I’ve even asked them if they could invent a game using these acrylic blocks. So, this collection does serve the purpose of educating young minds who are willing to examine such very different creatures. I rate this thirty-piece collection of preserved arthropods as a 5 out of 5 and I would recommend it to educators, biologists, entomologists, students, and even grandparents who want to educate and entertain their grandchildren.

These were a hit with my kids
As soon as I started unpacking them my kids started swarming me asking if they could have some. 😆 The resin quality is great, minimal bubbling, no cloudiness, the animals are well preserved and beautiful. There are two of each insect/crustacean. The blocks are lightweight and sturdy, they don't fall over.
