Nostalgic
I would read this as a kid and loved it. Now that my son is three, he enjoys it just as much!

Seems bran new. Needs better packaging for shipping.
The media could not be loaded. Books great pretty sure it was never used before. The packaging it came in just didn’t protect it very well on its way here. If it was sandwiched between a couple pieces of cardboard, I think it would’ve had better luck. The spine is bent with a small crack and has a few folds.

fun reading prep book with flashcards
Our narrator, a boy of 4 or 5, tells us about his encounter in a spooky house. The first two-page spread is typical of the whole book: a full-page picture on the right shows the boy walking down a country road at night; the left-hand page inserts pictures for many of the simple [nouns] being used, and reads -- "The [sun] went down. The [stars] came out. The [clock] struck ten. And I went walking under a dark, dark [moon]."The story shows the boy entering a room in a scary house and finding a monster there. The story is 11 pages of a few lines each, and is followed by four pages of flash cards (six on each page) which are mainly nouns contained in the story, with a picture on one side and the word opposite. Our toddler loves the feeling of participating in the reading, enjoys the funny story, and likes to point at or say the flash words. This is fun reading prep material that your preschooler might enjoy too, though not if they have monster issues!Others in the series, sans monsters, are Otto the Cat, Silly Willy and Don't Wake the Baby.

Kids love this book
It didn't take many times reading to younger children until they had memorized the story. They love to finish the sentence. It's one of their all time favorite book.

My 4 year old grandson loves this book. I like that he is learning the basics of reading left to right and recognizing that the words have meaning, like the he pictures.

They love to read it loud, "was I scared? NO!"
All our boys are scared of dark, but they love this book. By the bottom of each page, they read it loud, "Was I scared? NO!" and they smile. Toward the end, when they read "Was I scared? YES!", the boys jump up to action, they act out the words: shut ..., slamm ..., run down ..., etc. Later they remind to each other "not PAST the tree, UP the tree". It is so fun.

Excellent
Being a primary school teacher I ordered this as a resource for my Science 'light and dark' topic, to introduce children to the concept of darkness. What can I say, the kids loved this book so much that they keep asking me to read it. There are picture prompts which help them to join in with the story making them feel that they are reading along. Excellent purchase for youngsters.
