My go to
I was looking for an acoustic/ electric guitar and after searching online I found a few brands that I narrowed down but they were much pricier than the Fojil.I was hesitant at first to purchase this brand because I had never heard of the brand Fojill but I’m glad I did! When I received the guitar I noticed how well made it was and the smooth silky finish.I’m not a seasoned professional guitarist, actually more of a beginner but I think this guitar plays extremely well, the knobs are kind of cheap but they work fine. Played through an amp this guitar sounds great. The action was a little high so I adjusted the truss rod and now it’s perfect for my liking. In my opinion this is great instrument and it has become my favorite for now.

Great instrument, with a few puzzling design decisions...
For a while now, I have toyed with the idea of making a guitar that could jump from acoustic to electric sounds. I figured that solid body was the way to go: after all, the sound an audience hears from more than a few feet away is coming from the piezo pickup on an acoustic-electric. So a piezo pickup and magnetic pickup(s) was the way to go, with an easy way to switch between them. As I like to travel light, a few onboard effects would be nice, definitely reverb and maybe some delay as well.I was pricing components when, lo and behold! I found this guitar on amazon. Not only was it already assembled, it was far cheaper than I could make for parts! I jumped on it. I just got it today, so I don't have a video yet, but will try to make one when I have time.First, the good stuff. The action was great right out of the box! I usually expect to have to spend the first day with a mail order guitar with acoustic style bridge adjusting the truss rod and sanding down the saddle to get anywhere near a playable action. I had to do this with the donner hush AND much more expensive yamaha silent acoustic that I own. This one was great as is. Heck, even the strings were only detuned within half a step of standard. It has a neck that feels a shade wider at the nut than my Martin, which is 1 3/4". The body is smallish and thin. It's shaped like a les paul, but contoured like a strat, making it very comfortable to hold and play.It sounds as good as my yamaha silent guitar when played through the piezo. The reverb is more of a slap back delay (which is true of most cheap onboard delays in my experience) but not unpleasant. The delay is okay for what it is, although its of course not able to be timed precisely. If you want to do the U2 thing you'll need a separate pedal. The humbucker sounds good as well. The only thing is its position. I tend to use the bridge position far more (and imagine most other guitarists do the same). Even with the tone knob all the way up, you'll have a darker and more mellow sound just be virtue of where the pickup is located. The finish is matte, and honestly has some hardwood cutting board vibes. Still, I like the color and won't be ashamed to gig with it.In addition to all this, it has a headphone jack and auxiliary port so you can practice silently. It works great for the piezo, but of course if you want a realistic electric sound, you'll need some kind of amp simulator. I love the plug-in Vox headphone amp; it works great with it.Now for the...weird stuff. Not bad, exactly, just weird. The volume knob does NOT work when the guitar is turned off. All pick up combinations (piezo, piezo and humbucker, and humbucker) will still sound with no reduction in volume unless you turn the switch to "on". THEN the volume works perfectly. If the switch only turned on the piezo, that would make sense. It would be nice to plug in but save battery life by not engaging the pickup that way. But if the piezo still makes noise when the guitar is switched to "off", I can only assume it's draining the battery anyway. And of course, I want to be able to pick up/put the down the guitar without brushing the strings and making a racket. Maybe mine has a wiring issue? All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. My plan is to use it primarily for looping. It's perfect for setting down an acoustic rhythm and soloing over it with the electric pickup. Its also ideal for playing at church on Sundays when I'm the only guitarist and we have 3 acoustic and 2 electric songs. Last but not least, it's a good practice/travel guitar. It's practically full size, unfortunately, although it is a shade thinner and a good bit lighter than most electrics. Still, it lets you jam on the go as an acoustic or electric (along with a vox amplug or similar device) which is very nice! On top of that, its less than half the price of the yamaha silent guitar, so there's no need to be as terrified of it getting damaged or stolen while you're on the road. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to sell the yamaha now that I have the fojill. So, there you have it. It's playable and sounds pretty darn good, better than I would expect for the price. There are a few mysteries as far as the wiring is concerned but nothing that's a deal breaker and maybe if you know your way around a soldering iron you can customize. If you want a "Jack of all trades" guitar for less than $300 bucks, this is the guitar for you.

Power hum from electronics
Unfortunately the guitar had a power hum from electronics, which are required to be on to work. The guitar itself was very clean and played well, great action... to bad.

Just as promised
I did not expect too much of this guitar but was pleasantly surprised when it came. I needed a guitar I could take places without worrying about what could happen to it. This guitar serves that purpose and more. Well worth the price.

Headphone jack failure after 1 month
When it works it is a decent first guitar for silent practice. On the positive side, it is very playable, feels good in the hands, the action level is good out of the box with no adjustment necessary, and it looks nice. This is more of an electric than acoustic. Even with acoustic strings, it sounds electric so not really a hybrid. Ten days after the return window closed, the headphone jack failed, which renders it useless as a silent practice guitar (the reason I bought it).
