Mum with dementia can use this phone with no difficulty
There isn't a lot more I can add to what people have already said about this phone. My mum is in a nursing home and unable to use a standard mobile and so this is a godsend. I can't work out how I never spotted this before! I had been looking for months for something and this popped up on Amazon recently.I bought a Tesco Pay As You Go sim card, validated it on my mobile phone, bought a Tesco mobile voucher for £10 and added the credit. It works perfectly with a very good signal and the audio is clear. It works just like the phones my mum remembers from decades ago and so she took to it very quickly. It's very easy to programme numbers in and so she can phone us by just tapping two keys. The nursing home is very interested in it, as it would be a solution for other residents. Thank you Opis, for such a marvellous device.

Quality Product
I bought this dial phone for my mother who is in a care home and can no longer manage to use a mobile phone. She needed something that was both simple and familiar. It worked! She can now answer a call and because I programmed the quick dial feature can call me too but not anyone else by mistake! She has all the benefits of a landline phone without the extortionate line rentalI am impressed by the build quality and accuracy to a legacy phone. It has a solid feel with the weight that phoned used to have all those years ago. My subjective judgement is that the audio is better than my mobile - perhaps because there's room for a better speaker in the earpiece.A few pointers. If you do want to restrict outgoing calls be sure to contact the excellent customer service team for the additional instructions. I had to initialise the PAYGO SIM using my mobile - a micro SIM - so be sure to have a SIM adapter to instal into the new phone. Check whether the button phone would suit you better - Mum asked two care home staff to help with her first call but they couldn't work out how the dial thing worked! My family all love the look of the phone too. I can't fault it and it's excellent value for money.

Doesn’t have a function to save names
Does exactly what it says on the tin. The battery is great so can carry it from a - b and still make calls. Can save a few numbers but you can’t save the name so unless you know the callers number you’re not going to recognise who’s calling. Excellent for elderly who can’t use a mobile or people with Alzheimer’s. The ring is very very loud, can control this function.

Easy to use for my dad
Brilliant mobile phone, has solved the problems we had with my dad not being able to use his usual mobile very well. He has dementia but I have set up the direct dialling for him and he can manage pressing a * and then a number. We keep it plugged in on his little table and he hears it ringing when we phone him. Ring is loud, speaking quality is excellent. Easy to set up. It has definitely solved our problems with our elderly dad. So pleased we found this phone. The home that my dad is in said they were looking into suggesting one of these for their other residents who struggle with normal mobiles.

Excellent for the dementia suffers in a home.
Quick and easy to set up and 4G makes it future proof, unlike many others that only operate on 2G. Incoming calls are easy as you just pick up the handset, much easier than fiddling with a mobile. Outgoing calls are a different story. You can dial as normal using the keypad, remembering to use the area code! (not easy for dementia suffers) There is a speed dial feature but it's very badly designed: Press a button, the speed dial numbers appear on the screen, use the arrow keys to scroll to the number you want then press another button, the Talk/RD button. The speed dial feature could be programmed much better and therefore easier to use! There is no facility to enter and store the local STD code on this 4G version as other reviewers have mentioned on the older 2G version

Over-priced & Over-sold
Having read the 'hype' & thinking that's what I need, upon receiving the phone I was excited, but the excitement was short lived. After charging the phone and setting it up with a sim card, the phone would not allow me to change voice mail settings. Some phone numbers it would not connect either.Having checked the manual and resetting the phone, I was unable to do anything. So save your cash and don't bother with this phone. There are cheaper alternatives to search for.

Excellent with brilliant Opus support
This phone was bought 2 years ago for a 97 year old lady who had to go into residential care. She had never used a mobile phone, only a landline phone. She loves it. The ring is just like the old fashion bell tone. We were able to programme it so she only has to press 2 buttons to call her friends. She has no trouble hearing the caller even though she won’t wear her hearing aids! The best thing for us is that we have recently been able to contact Opus by email to sort out a query and their response and advice was fantastic. We highly recommend this mobile “old fashion” push button phone. Thank you Opus.

no cover over sim
phone looks great from a distance. then when closure up looks a little plastic (yes it is plastic but cheap and could do with a cover over the sim it should also make it more clear on the box that this is a 2G phone and only a few networks use this now and in future it will stop working. the ear piece is a good weight and a person with dementia should have no problem putting this down to end the call as the weight should do the trick. overall once I had spent a day sorting a network out virgin £6 per month no problems phone works well. now its going for the real test mother, I wonder how long the sim will stay in place? I think the duck tape is coming out. I have tried it and works fine. I did get a few funny looks walking down the street testing it out people thought I was mad and was looking for the cable ha ha .
