Almost perfect, just needs 1 more vent
Took this on a 3 day, 140 mile total bikepacking trip and it was great, almost perfect. Temperatures got down to around 38/40 degrees F at night.I’m 6’ and 215 pounds and had plenty of space at the foot of my sleep pad to stash my bike bags at night. The little O ring to attach a light was a great addition a mesh pocket by my head kept my battery bank, phone and chapstick secure.I’m probably going to replace the Guy line it came with, with some reflective and lighter line.My only complaint was that I wish the vents on back and front of the tent had something to keep it propped open. I used a small stick. I also wish there was a third vent on the back, opposite of the door. That would really have helped the ventilation at night.Other wise it packs down to basically a Nalgene bottle size in minutes.I used Trekking poles to set up, but learned about BA Accessories poles and am going to look at some of those as they are lighter and pack smaller on my bike. This tent was great.

Great Value
Let me start by saying that I am somebody who would like to backpack every weekend but ultimately I go 3-4 times a year. So, over the past few years I have been used to a 5lb tent with poles, that takes up the equivalent of a fire extinguisher in my pack. I’m an anti-minimalist who continually adds crap to my pack up to the last minute before I leave. I just could not justify buying a smaller tent for hundreds of dollars. So, when I learned about River Country Products and what they offered for a VERY reasonable price, I read the reviews for the various tents and decided on the Trekker 1A.It is a backpacking tent. I would not recommend it for camping in your backyard or within eye sight of your car or house (buy one of their bigger tents instead). It is not very tall but at 200lb 6ft, I had no problem getting in or out and I had plenty of room for my pack. I set it up (15 minutes) the first time in my back yard to test it over a weekend. We had some good down pours and some extended periods of rain which resulted in a thimble size puddle of water.2 weekends later I took it on a backpacking outing and could not have been more pleased. It is so small (football size) and light (less than 3lbs) that I couldn’t fill in all the extra room I had in my pack. The second time around I put it up in about 10minutes. Did not have rain but did get a little condensation on the outside of the tent. Inside was dry. It is a one person tent but I had plenty of leg room both length and width. When it came time to pack it up in the morning, I was very happy that I was able to get it back in the bag without struggling to cram it in.I want to also mention that my tent was to my door within 3 days of my order. I had one issue in my favor and let me say: Good Luck getting customer service this good with a bigger company. I liked everything so much that I bought the Trekker2.2 as well. It was very easy to put up and survived a good thunderstorm in my backyard with NO water. Easily big enuf for 2 people and I’ll review it after I use it in the field.

UPDATE -LEAKS good tent, great value
UPDATEholds water well nice swimming pool. although, down sleeping bag not happy8 hours of drizzle to light rain no wind. fabric became completely saturated glad I tested before hitting the trailleaks leaks leaksthe most important thing about a tent is it keeps you dry this tent does not deliverOLD REVIEW (all still true)would give 5 stars if I could get the ridge taught. (and if it didn't leak)inside seams well taped, tub has sturdy fabric. I use a ground cover just to eliminate any water infiltration. good cross ventilation, but it would be better with rigid webbing and velcro to hold ridge vents openassembled first time in 15-20 mph winds without any problem

great minimalist tent for those who want to be fully enclosed.
I bought the Trekker Tent IA from River Country products with the view to take it on overnight hikes in the wilderness areas in southwest Virginia. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to someone who wants a solo tent of this sort. I have slept in it and found it very comfortable for sleeping (I am 6’1”). There is room for my fairly minimalist amount of gear. If you have a lot of gear, you may want to also have another tarp for your gear. There is not much head room for sitting up, and clothing changes need to be done lying down if done in the tent.It is fully enlcosed with a mesh door for keeping out the bugs while you sleep. It is very well made and the design is good for stability. As their literature says, the tent is just about 2 lbs and comes with 8 aluminum stake and guy lines for set up. It does not come with the trekking poles needed for set up, but at my age (60) I never hike without my own poles. One could tie the two peak ends to a nearby tree, or easily find and cut two sticks in lieu of the poles in a pinch. Their literature said the poles should be 42 inches. The design of the tent seems to call for something closer to 3 feet. Pros: light weight, well designed, well made, good vents, screen zipper door. Cons: not much vertical room. Overall very pleased and strongly recommend for those interested in this style of tent.

Great budget ultralight for nice weather.
Love this tent! It's so light and packs up so small. It's single wall so I expect some condensation in the morning but I used a bit of waterproofing on the seams and had no issue. I can see how you might not want this tent in the rain without another tarp or rain fly but for my needs it is perfect. I love how small and easy to set up it is.
