This gift set is a lovely one for any stationery aficionado as it is both well presented and a lovely item to have.The pen itself has some weight to it but it is really well weighted for a comfortable hold and writes very smoothly in black ink. That the set has two extra, easy to fit, refills included is a really nice extra that makes this a great item rather than a good one, the person compiling this has thought about what the recipient would like to receive and given them that and more!It would make a lovely gift for any occasion really, I'm so happy with mine!

I was quite surprised at what a good weight this pen has in the hand, for the price point I was expecting it to be quite light but it does have a good heft to it. The faux lacquer work design is a nice touch and really does make this pen look impressive.The nib is protected by a thick "plastic" bobble that prevents the ink drying up or leaking out. This just pulls off. The ink is a rich black tone and flows like a gel pen so has good opacity and writes nicely. The only issue I have is that nib itself feels scratchy against paper which does disrupt the enjoyment of writing.Replacing the ink refill is super easy, then pen just unscrews. However, on my first unscrewing there was some metal wire ejected from the threads. This was only on the first opening but it still isn't something you want to see.Comes in a nice presentation box that holds everything nicely in place and would make this a nice gift.
