Don't bother buying this! Useless. Hand grip is way too small. Doesn't open easily.
Editing my review to add: well I finally used this umbrella in wind and rain last week and it violently caved in. It's useless. I had used it for a sunbrella a couple of times but found it very hard to hold on to because off the tiny handle. I noticed that the hang strap had started to fray after very very light use , just as I expected it would in my first review. And the designs that are supposed to show up when wet barely shown up at all.I wish I had just bought a tote brand umbrella because I know the are very high quality.Pluses: This umbrella is made of good materials. Locks firmly into place. It will be good for rain , great for sunbrella. Came in a handy travel bag.Minuses: It is tricky to open , the button is odd. The hand grip is so small it's very uncomfortable to hold onto. It doesn't lock into the fully open position easily you really have to work with it , but once it locks it seems to be locked pretty well. I ordered the pink one , this pink is much more like a very pastel lilac but the flowers that appear when wet are a true pink. The Velcro closure strap is pretty cheap , doesn't seem like it will last long. The elastic strap to hang it from is ok , also seems like it might not last long.

So pretty but do not buy
These umbrellas are soooo.. pretty. When the get wet they even change to a sweet pattern. All of the colors are gorgeous, the shape of the umbrella is unique almost Victorian. There are overflowing with charm. I read reviews and knew these were not up to par but bought 2 of each of the 5 colors anyway ( total 10) because I loved the look and just needed to put these 'temporarily' over my outdoor plants. These would be PERFECT inside like for part of a costume or decorating for a indoor weddingWhy I don't recommend? 1.) Extremely poor quality metal, so lightweight, even the slightest wind will flip these inside out. My quality rating on a scale of 1 to 10 would be a 3. Yes sadly, they are that cheap. 2.) They are tricky to open, as push up button is so cheap. More than half gave me a hard time. 3.) 90 percent opened up inverted and you have to push them back down point by point with your hands, how fun would this be while your standing in the pouring rain?

Neat idea, okay construction.
This umbrella is okay for one person, it would not keep two people dry unless they were huddled together and one was a toddler. The frame seems flimsier than my other umbrellas which makes me worry about the longevity of the product and whether it will be durable enough to hold up to a sudden strong gust of wind. The folding mechanism is a little hard to push up, not an automatic one with the button that springs it open, you have to push and then push some more. It folds up weird which makes drying the umbrella out properly by hanging it upside down take longer and more complicated than it needs to be hard to really explain but if you end up purchasing this umbrella after reading this review you will understand what I am talking about. The design pattern is cute but subtle. I got it in Lake Green, the clover design suits that color weall and its a gender neutral shade so my boys can use it if they need to and not feel like they are usings a girls umbrella. Once dry it does compact nicely to fit into a regular size purse.

Love the color & the sculpted edges & I'd buy ...
Love the color & the sculpted edges & I'd buy it again. Just a few things to know:It folds like an accordion, so the edges of the umbrella canopy point UP when it's folded. When you unfold & open it, the outer edges of the umbrella often end up pointing upwards. It might be annoying to some people to tug the edges downward when unfolding this, but I think this actually helps the umbrella last longer because wind gusts can turn part of the umbrella inside out w/o breaking it. I've gone through a LOT of umbrellas, mostly because of just this (wind gusts pulling them inside out, breaking them). Hasn't been a problem with this one, though I wouldn't intentionally take in into a wind storm to test it. So far it's lasted (knock on wood!).Also, the velcro tab at the end of the tie pulled off fairly early on. Again, not an issue for me since I just stuff it in my backpack side pocket, but FYI.

Cute but essentially useless
I bought this item because I was intrigued by the water-activated paint. Patterns do appear on the umbrella when it gets wet, but they are a lot more subtle than I anticipated. The umbrella does not have a button, and the strap to close it is very short, so opening and closing the umbrella is quite a struggle. It's not very comfortable to use or sturdy, but it is cute. Would I buy this product again or recommend it to a friend? No. Do I regret buying it? Not really. It is just Okay.

Edge is flipped up?
It's a cute little umbrella. My daughter loves the color. It was a stocking stuffer since she needed a new one for rainy weather anyhow. I didn't realize the outside edge is flipped up though? Looks like it'll catch n hold rain and may be better for the sun unfortunately. Difficult to wrap back up too.*UPDATE: Got a replacement. When this one is opened there are still 2 or 3 points that are flipped up but are easy to just push down and it looks and works fine. Not a big enough deal to do another exchange. My daughter doesn't seem to really care that it does that.

It does itโs job
The umbrella does its job. But it does not have flowers appear when it rains. My Daughter was bummed.
