Horrendous melancholy since finishing JEZEBEL. Book two please!
I just finished reading JEZEBEL, "A vibrant coming-of-age novel" by Lesley Meirovitz Waite, partially because of the Kirkus Review, but mainly due to the nudge of a childhood friend. We both grew up during our formative years in the Boston and Cape Cod areas and JEZEBEL took me right back there. At age 64 I’m shocked how the tumultuous, confusing, and sensual life of this teenage protagonist has completely enveloped me. Just over halfway through this novel, I slowed to a death crawl to savor the journey. One chapter a night is all I allowed myself, knowing this time capsule of a ride would soon end and I would long for more. I was correct. Experiencing melancholy withdrawal right now, missing my Jezebel. Book two please!

Easy to root for this main character!
This was a fun book to read because my family had a summer cottage in Hull for many years. It was like traveling down memory lane. Great details about stores, food, and beach culture. Jezebel grows up a lot during this key summer. She questions everything and finds answers through openness and curiousness. I rooted for her every step of the way!

Jezebel is a great character!
I loved this story of a young girl living and learning through a pivotal summer in a 70s Boston beach town. So specific in its details of time and place! Jezebel is a great character-I was with her every step of the way!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
Really enjoyed reading the book...I could see Jezebel and feel her through Waites words and descriptions. The angst, wants and tribulations of being 16 in the 1970s. The storyline was consistent and each chapter left me wanting to read the next one... would recommend!

A Must Read!
Another phenomenal book by Lesley Waite! Jezebel takes you into the world of the 70’s and brings you back to your teenage years, where anything and everything seems possible. A page-turner for sure. A summer read…for any time of the year!
