My class is celebrating cultures and diversity this week and we decided to create a trail mix that contained food items from all different cultures. As somebody with Swedish ancestry, this was the perfect addition to the trail mix—obviously I can’t put lutefisk in trail mix so this was the next best thing. Yes the container is small, but it’s just what I needed, so each student could have a small sample of the berries. As I suspected most of my students weren’t a big fan because of how sour they are, but it worked for what I needed.

Works well in muffins or pancakes

I ordered this to use for the icing on a chocolate cake. It added a wonderful flavor to the vegan buttercream.

Freeze dried lingonberries are a great snack, and also good for someone who's always looking for something new to cook. I make Swedish meatballs but have never served them with lingonberry jam. These berries rehydrate well and make a delicious jam that really put the finishing touch on my Swedish meatballs.The quality is there. I like them a lot.The thing is - and this is big - these are way overpriced. At this very instant, there is an 8oz pack of dried lingonberries for $26.99, and a 4oz pack of organic freeze dried lingonberries for $26.9. This is $10 for less than 1oz of freeze-dried berries. I like them. They're delicious, high quality berries. But they're not so spectacular that they should cost literally twice as much as certified organic berries.

This is a small sealed jar of freeze-dried lingonberries. Even dried, they have the lingonberry taste, including a natural sourness that definitely isn't masked by sweetener.The jar contains 20 g, which is a single serving of lingonberries. While I do find them tasty, the $10 price tag is harder to swallow. Freeze-dried fruit is rarely cheap, but I know that I can buy it for less at my grocery store.
