Extremely lightweight, easy to whistle, but hard to "seal" in larger mouth.
This whistle is short, narrow, and truly titanium, making it extremely lightweight. I can't whistle, well, since I never do it, nor do I play instruments. But I was easily able to make this produce a very loud sound. The one tricky part is you have to make sure you have a good seal with your lips, and the escape hole is very close to the entrance, so you have to put it kind of far into your lips, but not too far. It's also narrower than a cheap ballpoint pen. However, I don't think this is an issue for an able adult, but it could be a struggle for someone elderly or young, potentially. So if this is for that type of person, make sure they can use it easily, and if not, return it.The chain is a cheap metal ball chain, which weighs more than the whistle itself and would be very prone to breaking in use, making it a BAD idea for a survival whistle. Seller should include a length of paracord, instead. That's the appropriate material, and would be lighter weight, too.4.5 for whistle. 0/5 for chain, throw it away, last thing you want is for it to snap, get lost without you noticing, and then be in a life or death situation without your emergency whistle.

At $10, this is a good buy for a titanium survival whistle.
I love the look and feel of titanium. I also appreciate the almost unnatural feeling lightness and strength of the material. As such, titanium is a material I really favor for my EDC.The Autuveen titanium survival whistle is a great buy at $10. It is well-made and should stand up to years of normal wear. I like it's one-piece design that includes a mounting hole that works with a neck-chain or a split-ring for use on a key-ring. The Autuveen also has a clean design that I like. However, it also includes three shallow groves in the barrel of the whistle so that in difficult conditions you should be able to maintain a firm grip on the whistle.I tried the whistle outside and it emits a clear somewhat high pitched sound. Autuveen claims that the whistle produces 120 db sound. I don't think the sound meter app on my phone took what I would consider a definitive reading, but it confirmed the manufacturers claim.Altogether the whistle is about 2 inches long and about a 1/4 inch wide. It comes with what appears to be a titanium ball-chain.

Titanium ALLOY - Not Pure Titanium. Otherwise, An Excellent Survival Whistle
I love titanium. I own more than ten "every-day-carry" items made out of titanium - so I am very familiar with the look, feel, and weight of titanium products. As a whistle, this product works great. It gets deafeningly loud and is small enough to fit nicely on the outside of a backpack or even in a tiny pocket in your jeans. It is quite light, which is a plus as well. However, this whistle doesn't feel like other titanium products I own. Despite the title of the listing stating that this is a "titanium whistle", the product description does state that this whistle is only made out of a "titanium allow", which is a little disappointing.

Loud And Lightweight. And TITANIUM
I am a bit of a titanium junkie, so just being able to include the word "titanium" in my review is worth a star all by itself. There's not a lot else to say about a whistle like this. It is a small, lightweight tube with an insert that makes a piercing blast when you blow into one end. This whistle seems to require very little air or effort, so that's a nice feature if you happen to be lost and physically exhausted and trying to signal for help. The only slight negative I've found is that the "blowing" end of the whistle is just a round straw-like hole with somewhat sharp edges. Probably not safe for children. But for an adult with a titanium fetish who wants a tiny whistle in his EDC bag, it's just about perfect.

Very loud, but consistant
I have had other emergency whistles, but they were plastic and would not produce a steady clear sound if overblown. In a high stress emergency situation, having to remember to blow hard but not too hard is less than ideal. This whistle not only is more rugged in it's construction, it's also much more consistent in it's sound.

Titanium emergency whistle
This is a small whistle that's easy to carry, but essential for hiking when you may get lost or separated from your party. or to scare away an animal. I appreciate that its made of titanium so it doesn't add weight to your backpacking load, but still makes a really loud whistle. I feel safer having the whistle.

Nice titanium whistle
This whistle is very light and compact. The chain is probably almost as heavy as the whistle itself. Its pretty loud and works well.

great whistle
Weighed 4g on my scale with 3" of the chain on it, it's 2" long and 1/4" diameter. Most importantly this easily makes a very high quality whistle sound, none of the "have to do it just right" of some of the similar weight plastic whistles I've tried.Great addition to a primary first aid/survival kit where size/weight matters a lot.
