Bawled like a baby
I adore the writing of Dave and neta. Their style of writing sucks you in and you feel like you are there, in the story watching first hand! The last couple chapters had me bawling like a baby. Ughgh. I think at this time, I've read all their books. Please keep going. Please continue with these amazing characters that I've come to just love.

Moving & Emotional
When I began this book I was ready for some moving & emotional details about Lucy. I was not expecting to cry, no, not just cry, I bawled! It brought to mind the desperation I have listened to in stories of my own father & his sister from that era.The lack of information available at that time was brought out in a way that I could identify with because of my families lives. They we migrant farmers, which my dad saw as an adventure. My aunt was tramatized by most of it. Being a woman at that time was hard!I think Neta & Dave brought out that trama by telling Lucy's story in both settings, how it effected her throughout the years. It tied the two together in a way that caused the reader (me) to FEEL what Lucy was feeling. But I also think my past knowledge of that ear helped solidify the pain & suffering this family was delt.I want to thank them for making me think more about my dads life, and my aunts & grandmother, grandfather ... I now want to ask dad MORE, more about the war, more about where they worked, more about his feelings when they came into the towns to work ...Again, THANK YOU for this book!

Enjoyable Read
Once again Neta Jackson has written a great book. I have read all of the Yada Yada Prayer Groups series and this is an extra book from her last series "House of Hope" series. It is the "history" of the homeless lady names Lucy. Her first love and how that decision lead her to choose the path in life she is now on - homeless. It is a journey on how choices can harden a persons heart but also shows how the love of a elderly women can also find her soft spot again. It is a story of love, faith, and hope for a better life for Lucy. It had a bittersweet ending and leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart and a smile on your face. It shows Gods love shine through on the characters to help Lucy to enter into society again - but also shows that we do have "choices" on which path to take. And what I really like about all of the Yada Yada books - Neta always brings back "old" friends. I would recommend this book and any Yada Yada books to anyone.

Another winner by Neta and Dave Jackson
Even if this book "stood alone" it would be a warm and fuzzy read because the characters are lovable, and the writing was excellent. But I had previously read all of the Yada Yada Prayer Group books, the Hope House series, the Harry Bentley books, and that enhanced my enjoyment of it. It is helpful to know the history of Lucy as she relates to other Jackson books. It was interesting to discover why Lucy ended up on the streets and to learn more about her family background. The historical aspect of the book, including Lucy's life during World War II was very interesting. Going back to characters like Fuzz Top and Grandma Sheperd and Estelle Williams feels like visiting old friends. It is also fun to read mention of the many shops, restaurants, streets, parks and neighborhoods I have visited in Chicago over the past several years. I highly recommend all of the Neta and Dave Jackson books.

You will fall in love with Lucy !
This is the last in a series of Hope House Books. If you have read the first ones you MUST IREAD THIS ONE. You will discover how an 80 year old lady ended up as a homeless bag lady on the streets of Chicago. You will truly say "I Love Lucy," when you finish this novel.

Good parallel story to House of Hope series
I gave it a four because I wish the story hadn't ended so abruptly. Wanted to hear a little more on the 50 to 60 yrs Lucy had spent on the streets etc....

Another great book in the series..
I have faithfully read every book from the Yada Yada, House of Hope, and Souled Out Sisters series as soon as they were released. Lucy Come Home is another great book and like a previous reader stated, it is definitely bittersweet. As is always the case with these books, I read them at every opportunity that I can and I finish them quickly as I enjoy them so much. In this novel, the reader is truly able to understand how Lucy ended up homeless and like many of her peers in the "real" world, her story is pretty heartbreaking. This is a real eye opener for anyone who isn't familiar with the plight of the homeless and it is easy to see how tragedy can cause someone to end up where Lucy is.

Another Great Yada Yada book
Great story about one of the Manna House ladies, with amazing twists and turns in the telling. Quite sad but purposeful.

Really enjoyed it
If you've read the House of Hope series and know Lucy, then this is a fantastic book to tie it all together. To know Lucy's story and how she came to be homeless is what we all wanted and this book doesn't disappoint, though it would be equally enjoyable as a stand alone
