Overall a fast responsive unit and worth considering.
The M8S was primarily purchased for Kodi (formerly XBMC) which comes preinstalled with v16.0, which I found is unstable and therefore was uninstalled and loaded with v16.1 (i.e. the most stable version at the time of this review). The box was sold has having 8GB storage capacity, however, on inspection, the TOTAL storage was found be only 4GB of which approximately 1.2GB was being utilised by the preinstalled Apps, leaving approximately 2.8GB free for my use. This was not raised by me with the seller since the available 2.8GB is sufficient for me to install additional Apps, whilst all other downloaded material is stored on an external 1TB hard drive connected to the M8S via USB. If storage on the M8S is an issue for you, then please check that the total capacity is has that advertised!!One other point to take note of is that, the M8S is capable of outputting audio up to and including 6.1 channels - it is unable to output sound recorded in 7.1 channels. Whilst this may not be an issue for those listening through TV speakers, you may wish to consider this point if the M8S is connected to your AV amplifier capable of receiving 7.1 channel and you frequently listen to this type of signal.I found that you soon tire of using the supplied remote control to type characters in the search box, in which case, I recommend using the 2.4GHz wireless mini keyboard mouse (model no.: ESY-KB04) or similar.Overall a fast responsive unit and worth considering.

Compares well to much more expensive models
Easy to use and set up - if you know what you're doing! I bought this as a present for my parents after my dad was really impressed with our Kodi box which is high end and was well over £100. This compares exceptionally well to the much more expensive one. Easy to navigate, smooth menus. You do need a decent speed wifi connection to get the best out of this. They only criticism is typing into the search with the enclosed remote is a bit difficult and they needed a separate keyboard.

Suppose you get what you pay for.
I have edited this review, one week after having the box. The remote feels cheap. Don't expect to be able to upgrade at any time, there are no firmware upgrades so you are stuck with android KitKat, even though that OS is quite old now. Being stuck with that OS also means that you can't upgrade to the latest version of Kodi, as it requires android 5.0 or above. The box also does not keep date, time and timezone settings and you have to reset them after each boot up, this is due to the box not having an internal battery to maintain time and date while the box is powered off....very basic stuff which is not present in this box.. Email support is OK but as they are in China it takes a while for them to reply due to the time difference, and they must use Google translate to reply as their English is sketchy. The seller seems more interested in giving me a partial refund rather than trying to sort the problems or offering a replacement. My box now crashes whenever I try to install anything on it. Boots up and locks on the boot screen. My summary, STAY AWAY, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Seller is very reliable but product was disappointing
I have bought from this seller in the past and found seller reliable and this product arrived a day early on a Sunday. The box is as described but Kodi was version 15.1 and we are currently up to version 16.1.Also still had Genesis installed, which has been obsolete for months and a lot of the outdated Kodi apps just didn't work.If you get this product you will need to manually install new apps or install a complete and up to date skin. The box is capable and streams very well, but don't get this box if you want to just plug it in and use.

Amazing little box!
Very happy with the K12, which works perfectly with Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer and other streaming services. The K12 comes with a standard remote control, and has Android 7.12 (Nougat) installed with Google Play. Very easy to use, quick and responsive, and doesn't overheat. I'm very happy with it. Only thing I would recommend to anyone thinking of buying the K12, is to get an inexpensive wireless keyboard if you don't have one already, as this is one thing you might want so that you can get the best user experience from the box. But the box itself is excellent.
