Great traveling watercolor pad!
I used this when traveling in Europe and it was a perfect size to pack up and take with on outings. The quality was great!

Nice little watercolor journal
Very nice book - I haven't figured out how to release the binders to take pages out or to add more pages.

Securing clips very hard to open
This will be nice once I get all the pages filled in. However, the gold clips securing it together are extremely difficult to open.

Nice paper, cheap binding
This is a nice thick watercolor paper in a cute size, I was particularly charmed by the gold rings. I am by no means an expert painter, so the quality of this paper was fine for me but I'm not sure how it compares to the top of the line brands. However, when I first flipped through it, one of the rings broke open and won't close again, making the whole pad quite inconvenient. I'm not really sure if the rings are intended to open and close to allow you to remove sheets of paper, but I may end up having to superglue at least one of them shut or replace it with a more basic binder ring.

Decent but super small
This sketchbook from Lightwish is very small coming in at a mere 5.12" x 5.12" (130mm x 130mm). There are only 20 sheets though they're very well made from wood pulp at 350gm². The one amazing this about this sketchbook is that it has plastic rings you can open up to refill the paper with. You will need to cut or punch rectangular holes in them if you want to use this sketchbook as a refill. The paper itself has a very light tooth and is jet black, taking iridescent watercolours, pigment ink, and gel pens very well. :) I liked the thickness of the paper and didn't notice any severe warping or curling in the paper itself either. For the current price of $9.99 for 20 sheets, however, it's fairly expensive at 50 cents a sheet. If you're looking for a luxury novelty black paper sketchbook, this is a good choice. But if you're looking for affordability or more pages, get a larger-sized sketchbook in black from a competitor. :)

Love it
I like the thick blank white cover. You can draw something on it as you like. 20 sheets in total. Nice acid free 100% cotton paper. I chose cold pressed which is more absorbent than hot pressed paper as the paint sinks into the little bumps and dimples on the surface.

Black version is not watercolour paper
I can’t review this yet as I haven’t opened the plastic wrapping, but I was suspicious because it didn’t have any mention of watercolour on the back of the journal, whereas the white version I bought at the same time did. Using a translation app, I discovered that it says that it is black card, not watercolour paper. I’ll find something to do with it, but I would not have ordered it if I had known.

Not 100% cotton
Nice and thick, quality paper, but it pills, so it’s definitely not 100% cotton. Still, I would buy again. Very smooth finish.

Good paper, bit awkward setup
The paper is 300gsm, 100% cotton hot press. As such, it's very smooth to the touch, and cardstock thick. The paper takes water very well, I did have some warping but not too much. The journal itself is more a collection of 20 sheets with holes and two ring binders that can be snapped open and shut. This allows for taking a page out to work on if you want, or you can work on the journal directly. This also allows for adding more if you have a square holepunch. The papers are capped with 2 heavy cardstock covers for protection that are white which allows you to customize (though the front cover has an inlaid stamp)
