I looked at a number of other skirt/safety pins before ordering these, and all of them were dull. These are actually sharp, positively latch, and appear to be very durable. Wish they made some 3 inch ones as well.

I bought these for a specific purpose, to pin one heavy duty fabric to another. These did the job beautifully. They are so sharp it made easy work to pin them together and with very minimal damage to the fabric.

....because large pins like this can be very versatile. I plan on using them as tie on gift tags. I'll be stringing small letter beads on each pin, using the recipients name. The pins could then be saved and used as mini name tags, or turned into a keychain. The possibilities are endless. It's difficult to find a large, heavy duty safety pin, and these are decent.They do remind me of the old fashion kilt pins girls would wear on their skirts, except they're not quite as fancy as those old ones used to be.

Pins don't hold well. Pop open to easily.

These are large, fancy safety pins. The kind you might find pinned to the front of a kilt. I have been looking for large safety pins for a while now and was very pleased to find these! I want to use them to hold towels to the towel bar. There are five little boys in my house, and every time they dry their hands, all the hand towels wind up on the floor. By safety pinning them to the towel bar, I hope this stops! So far, so good. I have the kitchen towels pinned so they stay on the oven door's handle. I haven't had to pick it up for two days! I don't know why it's so hard to find safety pins now. But if you need a large decorative safety pin, this is perfect. Solid, sturdy, and not too expensive.

These pins are pretty durable for a safety pin. They are larger than the normal sizes you buy at the store and they are extra thick metal, so they are a little more on the heavy duty side. Very convenient to have these on hand for when you need a stronger safety pin.
