Great product, great result.
Only issue was the instructions. The instructions were lacking in a lot of detail, especially the graphics and diagrams. This causes the installer to guess or "McGyver" for the required result. In the end, the system works as desired, and once installed was easy to balance and tweek.

Big heavy kit - might need a little massaging
This pocket door kit is basically two kits in the same box, one for each side. It arrives looking like they're delivering a mast for a tall ship - huge - heavy.Inside the kit is pretty standard pocket door frame/assembly. There aren't any surprises, but know that it's a budget kit. I've seen other say they "needed" different hardware. To that I say that a kit that's about half or a third of the price of comparable models won't have absolute perfection. Expect to use your judgement on selecting additional hardware as necessary. If you're not at least an experienced DIYer, consider getting help from someone who is. If you're a pro, you probably already know what to look out for.I did need to swap out one board, but that only cost me a few dollars to replace. I agree with replacing the nails in the kit with screws wherever possible, it just makes life easier down the road if you ever need to repair/replace and screws don't disturb whatever's around your install area with large hammer blows. The real reason to buy the kit is value. My store doesn't even carry a heavyweight kit, so being able to get one at less than half price delivered to my door is a convenient way to save on material. I'm retired, so I have time to massage things into exactly what I need and prefer to save on up front costs where I can.

Good pocket door kit; needs attention to quality control and a fastener upgrade
I've installed a number of Johnson Hardware pocket door and sliding bypass door kits and as far as I'm concerned, their upper grade kits are the gold standard for smooth operating, long-lasting, reliable sliding doors. But they aren't cheap, so I was interested to see what this Jubest pocket door kit would look like, since its product listing makes it sound like it's competing head on with Johnson, including with soft-close mechanisms (which add a good bit to the Johnson kits).Overall, I'd say I'm pretty impressed with the quality and sturdiness, but there are a few areas where I think Jubest needs to step up its game.First of all, the overall design, while slightly different than Johnson Hardware's approach, seems solid and the components all seem like they will operate smoothly, handle heavy doors just fine, and last a good while. Of particular interest is the fact that while Johnson requires two soft close/open mechanisms per door to have both soft close and soft open, Jubest accomplishes this with one single mechanism. It's pretty clever. However, a concern here is that this mechanism is different than Johnson and Johnson's mechanisms won't work on Jubest's track (or vice versa), so while Johnson has been around forever and likely will be around for a long time if you need replacement parts (the soft-close mechanism is the most likely point of failure), it's hard to know if Jubest will be around in 10 years and if replacement parts will be available if the soft close mechanism fails. This is especially concerning with a pocket door--since the hardware is buried in the wall, you have to rip out drywall in order to replace the track if you can't get parts. The track itself, while different than Johnson's design, seems equally sturdy, as do the combo metal/wood "studs" that form the vertical walls of the door pocket. And I have to say that the 16 pages of instructions included with this kit are much better than Johnson Hardware's kit (which is more like a diagram than step by step directions). So, what are the concerns here? First, as mentioned above, will Jubest be around for a long time to support their products and provide replacement parts? Second, as shown in my photo, one of the two door track headers was shipped with a defective piece of wood--what's called a "wane" in lumber terms. This means that the cross section of the wood isn't a perfect rectangle; instead it's a bit more like a trapezoid where one of the short sides of the cross section is rounded following the wood's growth rings.Normally for stuff hidden inside a wall, wane isn't a big problem--you see it all the time on 2x4s used to frame a wall. Unfortunately the wane defect on this piece happens to land right where one of the vertical metal/wood "studs" is supposed to be attached. The wane here means that the stud doesn't have a solid place to attach to, so that attachment point won't be very secure and may cause the drywall to lean in. This clearly wasn't something that got damaged in transit or even during the manufacturing process. They simply let a bad board go all the way through their manufacturing and quality control didn't catch it or didn't care enough to flag it for re-work.The other aspect of this kit that I don't love is some of the fastener hardware that they include. For example to attach the metal/wood studs to the top track bracket, they've included spiral nails. First of all, hammering nails through the studs and into the top track wood bracket is a recipe for knocking things out of alignment, and pocket doors really don't like to be out of alignment. Second of all, they're a pain to undo if you need to adjust, etc. Johnson uses screws for their attachment and Jubest should spend the extra dime and include screws here too. Likewise, they include screws that are used to attach the finished split jamb to the sides of the metal studs that form the end of the pocket that the door slides into. But the screws that they include aren't self drilling trim screws--there's no way their going through that heavy gauge steel on the studs without your having to pre-drill. Johnson includes self-drilling trim head screws that drill their own pilot hole into the metal. No fuss, no muss. Again, Jubest saved maybe 25 cents by not including the right screws, so now I have to waste time and go to the store and buy a big box of specialty screws that I'll never need again.Note that this kit is intended for installing a double pocket door, where there is a pocket door on either side of a wide opening. But in reality it is two single pocket door kits packaged together with a bracket that joins them in the middle. So, if you have a situation where you are planning on installing two single pocket doors, you can use this kit and simply not use the joining bracket. You might even save a bit of money over buying two separate single door kits.

Heavy duty pocket door kit.
I grew up with pocket doors in the house. They were well installed and easy to use. I've heard stories about folks hating pocket doors, but I've seen the doors in question and they were generally just poorly installed. I like this set because they're easy to install and adjust for smooth operation. The soft-close mechanisms save on squished fingers. They're solidly built so I'm not worried about them breaking or jumping the track, and you can use a heavier door without any problems. I used this set as individual doors for a couple of rooms, but I'm going to use a second set as doubles to be able to occasionally close off an office that we normally keep open. The kit is fairly heavy but came well packaged and survived shipping without issue.

A good Budget Kit
I created an installed a 6 door system using a similar track and hanger system and I will say this is not high end quality but for the price you are getting everything you need to add a cool feature to the house. The hardware with thios kit isn’t the greatest but that is not to be expected at this price you can always buy your own fasteners and use those but these are adequate and get the job done. The real thing that separates this from a higher end kit are the rollers. These just aren’t as smooth as the high end kits but as I said they get the job done and they don’t have to compete with the top dollar kits s logn as the get the job done at a reasonable price. This kit is perfect for the diyer and comes with everything you need outside of the doors and the framing where the doors will disappear into the wall. Great kit for the price rangeUntil We Meet AgainOff the Grid Ken

Good quality and expect to last a long time
Good quality and expect to last a long time. This is a well designed door with instructions and online videos for the diy'er. Packaged well with all parts. Am planning on actual install the first part of next year and will update but looks like it will be an easy. install.
