product packing is extremely poor
The clock works fine, as expected. However, the product packing is very very poor. Significantly more foam/padding is needed to avoid transportation damage. My first delivery was damaged upon arrival (top cracked, broken). I asked for a replacement, and the second one has a crack at back which I didn't notice till the clock was unpacked and positioned (see photo). The crack didn't affect the clock operation and I decided to keep it because replacement or return is such a hassle with its large size. But really this doesn't make me feel good, and I have to find a way to patch , paint or cover that crack. Its' easily visible from the left side of the clock.Bottomline: Howard Miller needs to seriously improve its packing. The shipping carton has nothing inside to wrap around the clock except two carton spacers on two sides. The front and back of the clock have no padding. I can't comment on shipper but the fact is I have two products to my home and both had shipping damages.
