live in northern new england? want to identify trees?
i have already used this to identify so many trees. who knew there were so many different birches?seriously, though. i bought this for a course and even though i do not live in maine this guide covers pretty much all the same trees i have where i live, and this book is roughly $210 cheaper than an up to date guide to forest trees in my state, so i'm ok with it if the range maps are useless for people outside of maine.this is a detailed guide with easy to use keys.

Really well done
An absolutely perfect layout and description model. This should be the industry standard for all other. And oddly enough it came from a fellow Mainer! Happy to support local business. Even through a large corporation like Amazon. Or maybe I should say in thanks to Amazon. Because they were able to connect me to what I was looking for at a fair price and a solid product.

I wish there were more like it!
The spiral bound version of this book is extremely well done. It is very descriptive and provides color pictures for leaves, buds, bark and cones. The card type stalk that its is made of is moderately water-resistant. I would say not to let it get wet but a little sprinkling doesn't seem to hurt it. I find that this is both a beginners book and an advanced book. The more I read it the more I pick up on. There are also special sections in the front for learning vocabulary and at the beginning of each family of tree for quick identification tables. It really is a great book, I only wish nearby states and provinces had publications so comprehensive.

I ordered it through Moosebooks and it was delivered in perfect condition in just a couple of days
This book is exactly what I was looking for. I ordered it through Moosebooks and it was delivered in perfect condition in just a couple of days. You won't be disappointed ordering through Moosebooks, plus the book was less expensive than some of the other options. The very first day I got it I began identifying the trees on my property. A lot of General tree knowledge included in the book, for instance, the difference between pine, fir, spruce, etc.

Love this book!
Could not have succeeded in my recent course without this book. It's a great reference, very easy to use and would even make a great coffee table book because the rich photos and good organization make it very interesting to browse through.

Best book ever on northeast trees!!!!
I would give this book a 10 if I could. The pictures are clear and in color, excellent format. I also love the registry of big trees fact box. I had one myself and have ordered one for my sister and one for our town's library.
