I love the thickness of the paper and find it absorbs my markers really well. You’ll still see the marker you used on the other side of the page but for the most part it does not bleed through.

Tumuarta has proven, at least to me, that it is a good brand of “budget” art supplies at a fair price. Emphasis is on the word “fair” price, which should not imply “cheap”. In the past, I was fortunate enough to be offered some watercolor sketchbooks by this company for review; and in my opinion, they have among the top few deals for less expensive and pretty good 100% cotton sketchbooks that I have seen. Coming in on the heels f those successes, is this neat little 8” x 8” sketchbook, which stresses that it is good for markers. Not the least of its charms are the generous number of thick sheets and hard covers. The 8” x 8” square shape is also a win. For me, it is actually my preferred type of sketchbook to travel with. It handles most of the media that I have tried with it quite well, including graphite and colored pencils. As it is offered at a very fair price, and is from a company that seems to value its reputation enough to choose, curate, and present items in a way that makes it seem that they understand what artists want, I would have no problem purchasing this sketchbook for myself, or to give as a gift to an artist friend. Particularly if I knew in advance that said friend was about to embark on travel that might lend itself well to journaling or sketching. At the current price of under $15, I could easily see also purchasing something to go along with it, perhaps sketching pencils, or a small set of colored pencils or markers. Or, budget conscious people in particular could consider adding to this one of the nice Tumuarta travel 5” x 7” all cotton watercolor sketchbooks, and a few sketching pencils and a little travel watercolor palette, and present all four items as one really cool birthday, grab bag , Christmas or Hanukkah gift. I know that I would love to receive it as a gift, and I already have not only those said items, but also the “best” most expensive sketchbooks and cotton watercolor travel pads that I know of. My point here, is that all of my items made by Tumuarta are in my day to day rotation of art supply products,…right along with my pads by Arches, moleskin, Khadi, sketchbooks/ watercolor sketchbooks. I wouldn’t do that if the quality was below a certain standard that I have for myself and products: I simply don’t have the time, nor do I wish to waste time using any art supply that I don’t think will stand the test of time without deteriorating, or that will not work with me and what I wish to do with my art. I don’t have the time. Tumuarta art supplies can keep up with me without causing me frustrations and loss.

The pages are nice and thick, perfect for pencil drawings. It's a really nice sketchbook with a heavy duty black cover protecting whatever artwork you design inside. There is a bookmarking string to easily keep your place and an elastic binder when you want to keep it closed. I like it because it's sturdy enough to keep it in your backpack without having to worry about the pages being destroyed.

The media could not be loaded. I love this sketchbook. It’s great quality, the paper is thick and the hard cover protects the drawing.

False advertisement…Markers definitely bleed through, which doesn’t allow you to utilize the other side of the same sheet.
