Fish seem to love the warmth. Easy to use

The first one of these I received was broken; as soon as I took it from the box, broken glass fell out. Disappointing, but likely not anyone's fault in particular. The next one I get was good, and I was able to install it in my tank the same day.I have it in a 20 gallon tank, which is overkill for sure. In fact, that brings me to one of my major gripes; this thing is HUGE. I know my tank is smaller than recommended, but even in a larger tank you'll struggle to try and hide this/blend it into the scenery. I like having the 2 displays, so you can check it periodically just walking by. I set the thermostat to 74, and it has been constant each time I checked it. looking to add some fish to the tank soon, and I'm sure they'll enjoy their new warmer environment. Would recommend, but be sure to pay close attention to the size of this device; in my case, I had to angle it just to keep it all underwater (which is required for it to work).

The heater malfunctioned and boiled my entire 85 gallon fish tank killed all my fishes at once. I had massive Oscar’s and parrot fishes unfortunately we weren’t able to see it before it started smoking. Don’t not buy if you value your pets.

The heater is quite efficient in maintaining the desired temperature. I set mine at 77 and, it has kept the temperature steady, which is crucial for the health of the fish. Setting up the heater was pretty simple. The instructions were clear, and it didn't take long to get it up and set at the desired temperature. The suction cups provided a secure fit to the side of the tank. Changing the temperature is just a matter of pushing a button until you reach the temp that you want. It has a maximum and a minimum temperature setting, so after you reach the max, it just starts over again. A great feature is that the thermometer will automatically shut off if the water gets too low (it has to be completely submerged), or if it overheats. The one thing that I didn't like was that for long tanks, they recommend laying the thermometer horizontally. That in itself, is not a big deal except you have to tilt your head sideways to see the temperature. Also, it is rather large and bulky. Unless you have a large tank, it could take up a lot of space.

Holds temp well, a bit large but looks good in the tank for my preference. Cheaper than retail stores. Easy to operate. Clear digital readings. Suction cups are strong.
