Plastic handles are a bit cheap but other than that, these knives are awesome. They stay sharp for a decent length of time & it's easy to get the edge back when they've blunted off.Every kitchen should have a decent set of knives & these fit that bill

I was excited to buy my first ‘proper’ knife set. I’ve bought cheap sets before from various shops and supermarkets but they’ve been cheap & cheerful - doing the job but blades get rust spots and get blunt quickly, in some cases the blades loosen from the handles. etc.This Victorinox knife set arrived in a nice box. Not too flashy, but simple and functional.Getting the first knife out I realised how lightweight these knives are. Almost too lightweight, I thought. This is due to the simple black plastic handles. They’re easy to hold and the blades as extremely sharp - the precision is incredible, but the cost of these knives has been kept (fairly) low by the handles, which do - if I’m being completely honest - do feel a little cheap.I have zero complaints with all of the blades, the comfort in using them, the lightness of wielding the knives when chopping or cutting, and the fact that I have every knife here for any culinary whim I may have.. I only mention the slight grumble with the handles as it’s my honest viewpoint. It really is quite minor as they’re comfortable and light.For the price (£72 at time of review) you’re getting some seriously good quality, dishwasher safe blades from a reputable brand and they will last several years

Unlike many knives with plastic handles these will withstand many years of use and washing in the dishwasher. The tomato knife is particularly useful - great as a table knife for steak, slicing fruit and vegetables especially those with shiny skin, slicing small salami / chorizo etc thinly.

Really not bad but could be a bit less in price as better knives available for less money

If you are like me and you just need some great knives that are sharp and take the dishwasher without problem, then Victorinox knives are for you.I've always owned a few small kitchen knives from victorinox and those are great quality. They keep sharp for years and go into the dishwasher without any problem or color-fading. Now that I needed a set of proper kitchen knives, I decided to give these a go considering the great experience I had with smaller ones.And so far, only good things to say: good in the had, sharp as usual and just do the job! I think Victorinox is great and I can only recommend their knives and pealers.

Premetto, con massima onestà, di essere un personale fan dei prodotti Victorinox. Possiedo da sempre il classico coltellino svizzero pieghevole, oggetto di indescrivibile utilità (qualche anno fa ne regalai uno a mio nipote, acquistandolo in Svizzera nell'Appenzello, e facendovi incidere il suo nome sul manico). Detto questo, il set di coltelli che recensisco presenta tutta la qualità pazzesca dei prodotti Victorinox. Il set vale tutto il prezzo di acquisto. Impressionante a dir poco la filatura delle lame, talmente taglienti da dover essere maneggiate con massima attenzione (il semplice sfioro della lama comporta che ci si tagli!). Che sia carne, che sia pane, che siano verdure, i coltelli permettono il taglio senza che si avverta alcuna resistenza: come lame calde che tagliano il burro. Non esagero: questi coltelli sono un esempio vivente di quanto la comodità del taglio possa cambiare l'esperienza della cucina. Si tratta di coltelli leggeri, di comosissima impugnatura, resistenti. Personalmente li ho acquistato assieme ad un porta coltelli per cassetti, per poterli riporre in maniera ordinata, senza rischio di rovina delle lame. Svizzera e Victorinox sono un binomio a dir poco vincente ed affidabile.
