Really helpful
When I was younger, the thought of death would scare me. The 1st experience I had of it was my pet dying. I don't really remember my parents talking to me about it and I think that's what you need as a child, otherwise you can get carried away with your imagination. This book is a really helpful way to approach death with a young one and just gently open up that difficult conversation. The illustrations are beautiful too. Would recommend.

A thoughtful beautifully illustrated children's book
I read this with my kids as soon as it arrived and it instantly grabbed their attention. The illustrations are colorful, detailed and eye catching, and the words are thought provoking and profound. Definitely the kind of book that will be a mainstay in our family for years to come!

An aid for adults explaining bereavement to young children
This is a beautifully illustrated book that will have a visual appeal to young children. Thoughtfully interpreted by a caring adult it can help a young child to understand that death is a natural and inevitable part of life. Whether it is the loss of a treasured pet or loved grandparent there is an image and language to help those struggling to find the words that need to be spoken.

A beautiful book
A beautiful picture book that broaches the topic of life and death and what makes the journey of life so precious and special. A big topic, approached delicately for children, filled with stunning illustrations that make it a joy to read with little ones. I’d highly recommend it.

Wonderful resource
Wonderful resource for parents and perhaps nurseries/schools to have...I've bought it for my 3 year old, for the time when we need it or when she asks questions about death (she has already asked what happened to a bumble bee we found that was dead in garden). But, as I'm just pre reading it tonight, I've found it very comforting to read, for my own health anxiety. Written with such meaning and most importantly, allowing children to make up their own mind what happens. I already have Carly's 1st book and look forward to more in the future. A purchase noone will regret.

All children should have access to a copy of this book
Carly is a fabulous writer and manages to address difficult subjects with children through beautiful words which are complimented by thought provoking illustrations. I can’t wait to see what topic Carly picks for her next book. Thank you for helping children everywhere understand about important feelings and emotions that can be hard to describe on the spot when children undoubtedly start asking lots of questions x
