Q: We have new carpet. Would this work to remove vacuum marks?

Yes, it works great to remove vacuum marks and for a quick touch-up to remove light footprints as well. Also, it's easy to push back and forth. I tried a carpet rake and it was difficult to push through the carpet, and it left lines.

Q: Would this be ok to use on wool rugs?

Not really, unless you have a Shag rug. This Grandi Groom work’s wonderful on Shag Rugs and Astroturf, but not low carpets

Q: Any carpet rake marks after use?

This rake leaves no marks on my carpet whichbis a medium pile. Does a very good job. You will get a little bit of a workout if you tackle a large area. I usually work about halfvthe room then vaccume which will give you a break from the rake.

Q: Does this do a good job on lifting the pile on an older Frieze carpet that has become mashed down over time? Needing a temp fix until can replace.

I had no luck lifting pile of carpet. This broom is very hard to use, too. I had to remove the handle and get on my hands and knees to try and lift the nap of the carpet. Handle seems to be too long and bristles are not at correct angle to use with handle. I wound up buying a mini leaf rake with a telescoping handle. It did a better job and is much lighter than the carpet rake.
