Department 56 appears to be cost cutting while inflating price
This was the most money I have ever spent on a Department 56 branded building. I own a number of other Dept 56 Halloween village buildings, as well as 22 North Pole Village houses. I am disappointed with this version of Disney's Hanted Mansion (Magic Kingdom). For the VERY premium price, several aspects of the piece fall short:(1) APPEARANCE: I knew it was made from resin and not porcelain, but it just looks slightly off and will not quite match up to my other Halloween porcelain pieces.(2) SCALE: The scale is smaller than my other buildings. This piece should have been sculpted and produced inches taller and wider to look like it fits in.(3) PACKAGING: The printed box looks great, and is a full, lidded enclosure. But it is PAPER THIN, and I slightly tore the lid opening it the very first time even though I was being careful. This box will NOT HOLD UP for annual packing and unpacking. So aggravating. The styrofoam protection for the building is not solid - it is flexible, layered styrofoam which feels much cheaper than the foam Dept 56 used to use.SUMMARY: The price to quality/materials for this building is way off - Dept 56 is making a killing on the margin. Overall, this piece disappoints if you are looking for an addition to add to your existing Dept 56 Halloween village layout. On its own, it should look good once I dress it up with LED lighting and a custom display base with trees around it. But I am unlikely to purchase Dept 56 in the future if this is the quality and pricing we can expect from the company in 2024.

"Very sharp looking"
All I can say it I have both Dept 56 Haunted Mansions now in my display and they both look "GREAT" I don't care one anyone say's to be honest someone will find something wrong with everything but if you collect Dept 56 if you love Disney you will not be disappointed with this purchase but you will be sorry if you don't get one because they are selling fast. I managed to get one of the very first 500 that were signed and I can't wait for a month and a half to set it up to show off great job Dept 56.

Beautiful but not typical Dept 56 quality
This is the most money I've ever spent on a village building and I was shocked to find it made of plastic. Dept 56 was always worth the extra cost because not only were the pieces ceramic, but the painting was very highly detailed. Not sure why the price is so high for plastic. But my biggest complaint is that when you turn on the lights, the entire building lights up like it's on fire. The walls are too thin and not opaque, so they glow a bright orange/red. It should just be the windows that have light in them, but the entire facade glows red which washes out all the detail. I suspect this is because of the thin plastic construction. This was a big letdown for me, especially due to the cost of the piece.
