For my purpose it is working perfectly!
I bought this because I had been having an increase in small moths invading my bedroom. I also have the occasional tiny fly and mosquito. (I live in the Denver metro area in Colorado so we don't have a lot of the same insect problems that many other places do.) I plugged it in and then absolutely nothing eventful happened for the next few days. I really wasn't sure if it was working because I never heard any crackling noise. (Still no crackling noise after 10 days of use.) I also didn't see any moths or flies. Part of me was thinking that the drop in fly population was coincidental and I was disappointed that I wasn't getting an opportunity to test this thing. Then, finally, I looked closely enough at the grid inside and, sure enough, I could see several tiny little carcasses still clinging to the electrified grid. So, for my purpose, it is working perfectly! It has only been 10 days so this is not a long term review. Obviously at some point the lamps will burn out and need to be replaced. I don't yet know how available they are or how easy that will be to do, but, for now, I am very happy.8-12-2018 Update: The lamp in the first unit I bought has burned out after 1 month. Also, finding a replacement lamp proved challenging. The markings on the lamp say T5 F4W 2017.IV. The replacement lamp I ordered says F4T5/BL 4 WATT T5 BLACK LIGHT FLUORESCENT G5 BASE from Jackson Electric Supply. Hopefully it is the correct replacement. I was so pleased with this zapper initially I bought a second one for myself and another for my mom. I sure hope the other lamps last longer than a month. We used my mom's unit for an outdoor party at her house and there were plenty of crackles throughout the night. For those that have been wondering how loud it is, it is not very loud. We used to have a large outdoor bug zapper that was much louder and, in fact, it bothered the neighbors so much that asked us to stop using it. I doubt they would even hear this one. It seems to be made for small areas and small insects. No one complained of any mosquitoes that night. I am removing a star due to the short life of the lamp and the confusion/difficulty in figuring out and finding the correct replacement lamp.4-10-2019 Update: Mostly I wanted to follow up to say that the replacement lamps I mentioned above seem to be a good choice.I've been running two of these zappers year round. The one that needed a replacement lamp is still running fine. The light color is a little different. The new ones seem to be more what I expect a black light to look like, but either way both the original lamps and the replacement ones do a great job of attracting flies. The one new lamp I put in to replace the burned out one has lasted since august and the original lamp in the second zapper has also lasted almost that long. It's now ready to be replaced.

It Doesn't Catch Bugs! It's Just an Expensive Night Light!
I've had this bug zapper turned 24/7 for three weeks and it hasn't zapped one single bug! We have several bowls of fruit on the counter and have a few small fruit flies buzzing around. They ignore the bug zapper. I even moved the bug zapper next to the bowl of fruit that had the flies buzzing around and no zapping occurs. Also misquitoes and regular flies ignore it. I'd say that only thing the bug zapper is good for is burning up electricity.

Yes It works, works good
I put the Electric Mosquito Killer to the test and besides catching about 12 of the Buggers I notice one bizzare looking one, The EMK probably save my life if that Bugger would have bitten me, Who Knows what kind of disease he would have passed to me .P/S I uploaded a picture for you to see the beast, click on full revue

Stopped working after 2 weeks
Unit failed to roast the insects after two weeks but the bulb still, worked, so it then turned into a bug summoner which defeats the purpose.Sent it back ...my quest for an indoor bug zapper continues.
