Great product love the flavor for baking cookies and muffins.

I bought the Heilala Vanilla Bean Paste a while ago to try, as I'd onky used a vanilla extract in my baking. When I substituted my regular extract with this paste, I noticed a huge difference in the quality & taste. I've since used the paste in my own original recipes for chocolate chip cookies, several cakes, and it is SO good in my Vanilla Bean Buttercream Frosting! The area where I live doesn't have much in the way of "gormet" or "specialty" items so ordering through my Amazon Prime was a natural go-to. I was baking one day & used the last of it, & noticed I was low on my extract too. So I ordered both products. I used the Heilala Vanilla Extract for the first time in my Carrot Cake & my Cream Cheese Frosting recipes (pictured). I noticed a big difference in the quality of taste & so did my husband. He asked me what was different this time & it was the Heilala Vanilla Extract! The price is good for the quality of these products, & the convenience of using my Amazon Prime to order is a great asset. As long as I continue creating recipes for baking & cooking, I'll be using these Heilala products & ordering through my Amazon Prime!

Using it in my Scandinavian recipes

I have bought this twice now. It takes a while to get the balance of paste (or extract) and sugar right. My experience is that you will need less of the vanilla than you expect, and more of the sugar. Good news: the vanilla will last a lot longer because you’re using less for each serving than you thought.If you don’t get the balance right, you’ll find the taste unpleasant and I’m fairly sure this is the reason some people have written negative reviews: they simply didn’t take the time to experiment thoroughly.Try some Chantilly cream. Maybe 1/4 of a teaspoon of vanilla paste, a heaped teaspoon of sugar, and about a cup of cold heavy chipping cream. Beat by hand with a whisk (a fork will work but take a lot longer) until there are peaks. Taste a number of times as go along. Use on a fruit salad or other desserts. Yummy.

I read about Heilala vanilla on Bon Appétit, and I decided to get it to amp up my baking. They smell absolutely amazing. I’m obsessed with the vanilla bean paste. I made my own vanilla coffee syrup with it, and it isn’t comparable to the extracts found at the grocery store. If you want to step up your baking game, these will definitely enhance your baked goods.

I am a new baking business and searching for high quality, healthy, good for the earth products that would set me apart from the rest. Heilala Vanilla matched what I was looking for in a vanilla and exceeding my expectations in quality. I've used both the pure vanilla bean paste and the pure vanilla extract with equally great results. The only reason I gave the appearance 4 stars instead of 5 is that I expected more vanilla flecks. Heilala will be one of my "secret ingredients" as long as I'm baking. Pictures is my Extra Vanilla Bundt Cake with Chocolate Ganache. Exquisite vanilla flavor!

My wife requested this as part of a birthday gift. When I asked her about it, she said she was a bit disappointed in the quality of the flavor, especially given the price. So, it is NOT bad but not overhelming great either. Caveat emptor...
