If you are at all interested in the Reggio Emilia Approach, creating a studio in your school or classroom or just viewing preschoolers learning and expression differently than you have than this is the book for you. This book walks you through various art studios in a preschool building and in preschool rooms. There are amazing stories and interviews about how the art studios came about and inspiration that spired it all. I would even recommend this book for anyones home or work studio. There are lots of ideas on organization and the book helps open your mind to possibilities that were not their before.

Excellent book for Reggio Inspired schools, research and educators. I have been researching Reggio Inspired schools and found this to be an excellent resource.

Wonderful Resource for ALL Reggio Emilia Inspired Educational Programs!

Some of the members of the Reggio-Inspired Network of Minnesota chose this book for one of our book studies. It was an excellent book for many reasons. Although we did have 2 or 3 studio teachers in our group, we also had classroom teachers. It was informative and inspirational for both of these groups. The studio teachers could obviously read it from their perspective to gain knowledge and insight for their studio work. For the classroom teachers, it applied extremely well, also. It seemed to me that you could substitute 'classroom' for 'studio' in most cases in the book and then apply the ideas in like manner.

It has some really good chapters (interviews) but some others are quite boring and repetitive.

This is a great book that explains the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. It emphasizes the importance of art in the curriculum. Examples given from various schools can be adapted to many settings. Photos and sections written by different educators are helpful.

If you are working in Early Childhood Education this book has so many creative approaches and ideas that you could adapt and implement. Beautifully illustrated, the documented learning is visible and attractive, and really inspired me in my practice.
