Long lasting, strong good smell

I bought this as a Christmas present for the hubby....I’m sure he’ll be delighted with it....I certainly am.

Tested in store and then bought online. I very much rage this as a medium weight all day fragrance. Not a short fresh smell, but still lighter than most so called night fragrances. Manly with no musky overtones. Fragrant and masculine without being overpowering. Don't use too much though it does carry so use sparingly.

There were a lot of advertisements for Eros on television so I was determined to get some. I had high hopes for it.When first handling the bottle, one is impressed by the sheer quality of the craftsmanship and intricacy of the bottle with its unusual colour, somewhere between green tourmaline, aquamarine and turquoise. Versace's Medusa logo is embossed on the bottle as well as in gold on the top. Also worth commenting on is a labyrinthine pattern of intricate interlocking lines somewhat reminiscent of a Fendi design but with a mix of a Gucci pattern as well. The writing is all embossed in gold and looks very classy indeed.So far so good, now to the sampling of the fragrance. My first reaction was; is this a joke? It is a dirt cheap, sickly sweet irritating smell which reminded me strongly of an upmarket Christmas cracker from many years ago which had a vial of perfume for (presumably) little girls. Forget about high notes, base notes and heart notes, this was monotonal in substance and cloying. Surprisingly, this might be a more positive statement than it sounds because all the aroma notes are in such severe discord with each other that they seems to add a layer of unexpected, if repulsive, intrigue. The discordant clash of fragrances makes the aroma a masala of ill-matching elements that is frankly bizarre and difficult to try and explain. My visions of Versace fragrance designers gazing dreamily into a distance composed of green valleys and crystal clear mountain springs embraced and caressed gently by sunshine and blue skies, drawing power and inspiration from Mother Earth herself was cruelly shattered and replaced by the cynical reality of some severely jaded and lazy fragrance designer for Versace sporting a de rigueur 7 o'clock stubble and a lit super-strength Gauloises cigarette permanently hanging limply from his chops. Unfortunately, the only fragrances emanating from him will be that of stale coffee, rank cigarettes and attendant ash and eyeball-turningly bad breath and he will probably be far more interested in his homosexual pursuits and rampant drug-taking than in doing a decent days work for his company. He leaves it to some semi-literate office junior to come up with something, anything. Just enough to somehow buy another day on the job.With this appallingly disgusting fragrance, their career will be short lived indeed unless they can persuade everyone that the Emperor really does have new clothes and is not walking around buck naked.

Was recommended by a You-Tube reviewer , so I bought it and very pleased . This is my new fav, scent , you only need one small spray and you get compliments on this fragrance. Will re-order when empty.
