This pump is a handy to have on hand when I need to pump diesel. It requires assembly, which is easy to do. A nice feature of this pump is that the flow direction can be changed by the switch on the pump body. This has come in handy when I need to drain diesel out of the tank on a backhoe. The suction strainer and the discharge nozzle are held in place by clamp rings. I had to change the two parts over when I reversed the flow direction; it took very little time to do so. Another plus is that the pump does not draw a lot of amps out of the average-sized battery on a diesel engine.The discharge nozzle is all plastic - it seems ok and does not feel or look like it will break too easily. As I am the only person using this pump, I am mindful to handle the nozzle with care. I also extended the power cable by 10 feet. We needed a means to occasionally transfer diesel fuel to and from our Kubota diesel tractor and other containers of fuel. We don't do it often, so I didn't want to spend a fortune. This product seemed to fit that bill.The build quality is ok, but nothing that is going to stand the test of time or frequent use. The plastic dispensing handle is a bit cheesy. Again, for just occasional use, it should probably be just fine.

Went on fire due to short within the wiring cover. Looks like loose wire touched another wire when it became loose.

Hubby wanted this to attach to a diesel auxiliary fuel tank for his tractor. It works as intended and does a great job. It does come with a plastic fuel nozzle, so will probably replace that. However the plastic nozzle does have a cool locking device so you don’t have to hold it down.

I still need to permanently mount this as you can see from my picture but from my tests this works perfectly and comes with everything you need, although I will be making a few adjustments as I permanently install this. I am installing this in my snowmobile trailer where I have a fuel tank to refuel my sleds. My tank come with one of those syphon nozzles, but it never worked great and eventually stopped working all together. My plan is to swap the connector on my tank and connect the inlet to this pump right to the tank, wire the power right to my trailer battery, then swap the plastic nozzle this came with (which works fine and seems like it will actually hold up much better than the plastic one that came with my tank) with a metal one, only because I already bought it and figure I might as well use it. For now I just fed the inlet right into the tank, hooked it up to a small 12v battery, turned on the pump, squeezed the handle and I was pumping fuel like a pro. It didn't realize when I bought this it can be switched to pump either direction, not sure if I will ever need to pump in reverse, but who knows and it's nice to have if I ever do need it.

This is a cheap made set. the nozzle is completely made of plastic. This would be ok for light use but is cheap made.

great transfer pump. I have used it numerous times to transfer gas and diesel and it works great and fast. comes with all of the fittings you will need to operate the pump and the leads are long enough to reach the battery on most vehicles.

This pump is pretty heavy duty. Setup takes a few minutes to cut the hose and attach the fittings, but is pretty straightforward. The pump instructions aren't the best, but good enough. I'm guessing anyone purchasing this pump will have the basic mechanical aptitude to assemble it without too much trouble or needing the instructions.The pump is a bit loud when running, and vibrates a bit, but not bad. There are mounting tabs which would help with vibration. Should make transferring fuel (not gas, apparently) an easy task.As with a lot of things, time will tell on durability. Tough to give 5 stars until I know if it's going to last.
