Fun for all
Love this game. It is what Monopoly should have been! Gorgeous board and easy to understand game play. Extra goals and influence tracks help create a more dynamic gameplay experience.A very good hour long filler board game or intro to modern board gaming for new comers to the hobby. Simple enough to teach but just crunchy enough for seasoned board gamers! For the price it is a no-brainer for most collections!

Easy yes
If you are into the hobby, this is a perfect add on to your collection. Mechanics are familiar to other modern board games but the strategy and game play it’s just really good. Every professional reviewer recommends it. It’s an easy YES for me after one play and I will definitely play it again

Love this game
We discovered this game this year at Spiel in Essen Germany. We thought the board was so beautiful. Unfortunately they were sold out so we ordered it from here. We love playing this game. It's fun and interesting. Lots of pieces to set out and sometimes lots of components to keep track of, but it's easy enough without being boring. Each time we play the game it changes a bit but unfortunately my husband always wins. I definitely recommend this game. Love the divine favor part ;)I do wish they would provide more baggies for all the pieces.

Perfectly ok
Beautiful looking game. One of the nicest boards you will ever see. Very good rulebook. Game is easy to learn, it is a game that makes sense and it is easy to understand what you need to do on your turns and how to win or try to win. Component quality is excellent. Game plays pretty quick so despite looking like a big game, its actually very fast turns. Game is probably over hyped a bit and not the 8.5 that the Dicetower gave it. You have three actions, build, sail, or customer cards. These choices are very repetitive and the game is just too samey even on the first play. I like that the rule set is simple and easy to follow, but it just is repeating the same three actions. I would let one person in your game group buy it at 50$ and play their copy. If this game was 20$ used or 25$ in the rubbish bin, then maybe. But not enough variety in my opinion.

A highly playable and fun game for all levels of gamers
This fine game not only looks amazing on the table with its gorgeous gold lamé river and attractive components, but is accessible, playable, and fun for all levels of gamers. A great game for your family to play. The reasonably priced game is also quick playing, with “analysis paralysis” minimizes because you roll the die for your next turn at the end of each of your turns, so you can plan your next turn while others take theirs. There is also an excellent solo mode on BoardGameGeek.com, with cards to print and sleeve that match the game’s artwork perfectly.I’ve introduced this game to several people on Board Game Arena and they all immediately went out and bought the physical game.

River trade in Rokugan
River of Gold is a highly entertaining resource trading and recipe fulfillment style game. The art, board, and cards are beautiful and easily readable. Anyone who enjoys The Legend of the Five Rings or Japanese themed games Will love it.
